No disrespect ??? That statement is full of disrespect.... Don't get above yourselves.... What cost Hull the game was the Salford defence. At times I had no idea how we were holding out. Some credit for once would be nice and it gets a little tiresome that every time we win a game... it's apparently only because the other team were poor. Both packs are not the best, but I think we both have pretty decent backlines. The referee was dire tonight, and I don't know how long this guy can last before being demoted. No team benefited from his ineptness tonight... but both sides definitely suffered.

Pleasing to see a change from last year though. This year the left side defence is getting sucked in. Last year it was the right side. I look forward to the Briscoe out threads

Very disappointing performance tonight. Ill discipline cost us a hell of a lot and Gentle needs to kick ass over that. We also need to start struggling to get up in the tackle. I thought we were waiting for Christmas on a couple of occasions. A quicker ptb will have sides backpedalling and we can take advantage.

On the plus side Seymour looks to be a good signing and if he imposes himself on games a bit more we may be able to have a bad 20 mins because we'll score a fair few.

Our recruitment came to an abrupt end when Pearson seemed to promise much more and we didn't even come close to rectifying the obvious problems with our squad.

Ive thought Matin has look good in attack personally. Although I agree that wing does look like a defensive weak spot, Warrington and Hull KR certain exploited it.

Actually,I think I would be more peed off about losing if I was a Saints fan right now.
Although I am disappointed with our result,I will not bring out the pitch fork and burning torch just yet.

Of course it is early but do you honestly think that we have a squad that is capable of finishing above Wire, Saints, Wigan, Cats, Leeds or Hudds ?

However... I fail to see why Salford are classed as a 'rubbish' team... I've watched this game long enough that you accept being beaten by a better team on the day should be easy enough to take. In this competition there will be a number of smaller clubs beating bigger clubs over the course of the season. I accept that Hull are a bigger club than Salford... you get to spend a heap more on salaries than we do... but Salford have some decent players at the club... ones that certainly deserve to be playing at SL level. I think perhaps you should re-think using the word 'rubbish'. I think the real problem is that many Hull fans suffer from delusions of grandeur based on perhaps playing in a bigger stadium and having a richer history makes you feel that you deserve to be better right now.... well let me tell you... you don't... you aren't anywhere near the best team in SL... I mean... it's hard to say that you're the best team in Hull.

salford deserved the win,smith had a very good kicking game ,we wasnt good enough and didnt take the chances offered to us to win the game,school boy errors,like ive said on another thread success will not arrive over night,the club was ripped apart from top to bottom,i believe in gentle and things will come good,credit to salford for the win,we wont be the last team to lose to them.

Why the contempt for Salford? We've lost a game on an ice rink, gave Saints a game for 50 minutes, played great stuff against Widnes and dug in to beat your lot last night. Maybe a few more defeats and you'll learn to respect the opposition more.
