I'm not sure how much of a case we could put together, especially when you consider how the RFL like to sweep stuff like this under the carpet and who works for them in a very senior capacity. No doubt Leeds would claim an approach after the anti-tampering deadline and the RFL would find in their favour.

I think with the lack of decent and available British props out there, the market was always going to be inflated....supply and demand etc.
Lynch's stats in Super League speak for themselves...Good injury record too so if he looks after himself I'm sure he can go on further than the two years. Will also bring leadership to the table, very important for us now Fitz has gone.

I think i would prefer to keep with Moa and O'Meley starting with Lynch and O/Carroll/Radford off the bench, or the other way around. That we we keep an impact and grafter prop on all the time.

IF Westerman was £125k then I agree with you, the £40/50k mark is decent value, he's a solid performer, nothing mre than that, but English props are at a premium.

It was the "significant six figure sum" that made me concerned, a small six figure sum is £100,000.

Anyway, we'll never know for certain, so this is all a bit pointless.

I think it has more to do with the team structure as a whole. A prop of his proven ability was needed (priority) for the betterment of the whole team. Do you spend all that money and then risk failure, because you wouldn’t pay that bit more for a much needed player? It may be 50k+ more than his actual individual value, but it could cost Person and the chances of the team’s success a lot more not to have him. He may end up being the difference between silverware, and also ran’s.

A player's transfer fee isn't really an indication of what he is worth as a player, but more of what he is worth to the club wanting to sign him. We need to strengthen in the forwards, Lynch is the man we believe is the best for the job and the fee reflects that.

I've checked his stats against Peacock and Morley and Carvell (and Dowes just to make sure)adjusting their data because he has played more games than most and his are way better than theirs overall. So, if he's nothing more than solid, neither are any of the others that I mention. Or was that your point?

Tbh I would say better than solid, only Graham made more yardage last season and only three players in total made more yardage. He has also just made the team of the year from the best stats.

He is among the best 5 props in SL imo.
