Maybe not in terms of playing ability (but saying he is nowhere near is a little off the mark), but having someone like Fitz around the club can only be a good thing.

why are our fans always so negative, he was judged as good enough to be on the bench in the world cup final for Australia only a few months ago, and has played over 20 games a season the last few years

we have also for once played it safe and only signed him for one year, so if he's rubbish or gets injured we can get rid

Although until the club announce this officially I guess he's not [itechnically[/i a new player yet.

Could be a good signing if the terms quoted are correct. Should provide some leadership and gives us a kicking option that makes Tickle redundant. I'm not too worried about his age, especially on a short term contract.

In short, he's an improvement over what we have but he'd better be joined by a quality 7 at the very least.

Kearney was 35 and fitz is only 32 so thats ok then , all our problems are solved , i still think its a "paper over the cracks" signing , it doesnt address the point that we need a 7 that can unlock defences and create a lock with horne and berrigan.

fitz could be the type of player that might bring in some talent to this club

decent enough signing, but please please please follow this is up with a scrum half, centre, stand off (if horne stays at fb) and a big kick ass prop whilst you are at it. And get rid of some of the dead wood
