I'm a big fan of Rule and think he takes too much stick on here mainly brought on by Kath Hetherington's refusal to deal with the media meaning that Rule had to be the face of the board and always emphasise the positives no matter how little they were.

With Pearson and McRae coming in both of who are very media friendly the only change in Rules role I expect is that we will be hearing from him less and less.

The thing is with James Rule is that he backed Richard Agar 100% and firmly believed he was the right man for the job. Everytime I rang him on the directors line he never wavered on his belief that Richard was the coach that would bring us silverware. It must be a bit of a shock to him that the new owner did'nt see it that way and went against what he believed. If Adam had not bought the club you can bet your house Richard Agar would have got another contract, no doubt in my mind about that.
If James is not up to the job (which I think he is) or does'nt like the new surroundings he will either leave or be sacked, our Adam does'nt mess around!!

Of course he backed Agar what on earth did you expect him to do....Tell you on the phone he thought Agar was cr@p



Rule has done a good job off the field deserves to keep his job if that is what AP decides.

james rule's days are numbered imho, pearson has brought shaun mcrae in as DOR due to his own admitted lack of knowledge of rugby league, one thing he does know about is running a sports club and business to make money. I can't see him having rule continue to do that job for long when pearson is a very hands on kind of owner/manager

we shall see, but having had the odd contact with AP from his first stint at city i can't see him having someone doing his own job for him and paying him for it. rule will stay in the short term but I wouldn't expect to see him there in say a year's time.

I think Rule will be fine and rightly so, done an excellent job.

Pearson isn't day to day hands on with FC, and I don't think he has any desire to be, he has enough on his plate wth City.

Pearson already has a full time job. Chances are he'd have to give that up if he wanted to run Hull FC himself properly, and he's suggested he doesn't want to do that any time soon. That could be because he enjoys his job too much to give it up, or could even make financial sense as he may well earn more from City than Rule is paid (and that's highly likely in all honesty).

and he keeps involved in his first passion, football, Pearson may well have bought FC with the view of building them up over 5/6 years and then selling at a profit, thus allowing him to buy his beloved Huddersfield Town in the future? (one of many possibilities)

He does his job well, made a couple of mistakes in his time although one had nothing to do with him but he stood up and took the blame for it. His job included putting a positive spin on things and to be fair it has been a hard job these last 4 years.

I reckon he'll move on of his own voilition in the not too distant future
