| Quote ="The Dentist Wilf"Saints just got home at wake too so as you were so far and we are 8 points clear of the drop with 7 to go ... over sensitive? I don't think so myself for I watched some of that game again this morning before an afternoon on radio Leeds and in the cold light of 48 hours later it is still one of the worst gutless second halves I have seen in 64 years of attending games. Action needed although I doubt we will see any.'"
Personally think the club is in freefall and can see a massive fall in attendance next season due to poor results this season and lack of interest from supporters having been let down season after season
When you look at our recruitment Hoy and Trueman they will make little difference if changes are not made in the forwards.
We are far too lightweight in the forwards with no like for like replacement yet for Mau.In fact we could do with two new big mobile second rows as Lane is now being found out that he is lightweight and small and Savelio unfortunately is another injury prone player.
In the front row we are carrying Taylor and not seen enough of Evans to be convinced he will make the level we need, and we all know there are several senior players that need to moved on if possible
We have Fash who gives 100%, Cator, Lane and to a certain extent Brown who are all small and light for todays game so we can only afford to be playing say two in the 17.
Its pleasing to see our reserves and Academy doing well but in reality will make no difference to the first team performance or League position next season.
I seriously think Adam Pearson thinks this young player approach will be the answer to the clubs problems and why he is still supporting Hodgson as coach, but this is a long term project and you never know who from a crop of promising young players with potential will actually make the grade for first team football.
Unless Pearson creates some excitement like a couple of major signings especially in the forwards i can see a real drop in interest from supporters which will drastically effect pass sales and attendances next season to around 7/8000 and that could likely be the end of Adam Pearson at Hull fc and he may put the club up for sale.

Dont get why your so touchy I respect Salford as a club and your club has being a breath of fresh air the last few seasons. However they are teams who spend alot more then you who should be doing alot better. That is fact.'"
Apologies get a bit touchy being a Salford fan always being written off/dismissed. What I've seen of Rowley really impresses me much more infact than Watson ever did, (even though you'd be better off with him as would Wire incidentally. Ow and I don't know why but I've always had a soft spot for Radders. I read your forum and you probably do have some hangers on "Hull Mafia" ![Laughing icon_lol.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_lol.gif) incidentally I was talking with our kid at the Catalans match and going through the squad we realised we had two players from the 2019 Grand Final squad still with us ![Shocked icon_eek.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_eek.gif) thats only three years ago thats us Salford RLFC always re-inventing ourselves. Must admit though our recruitment is second to none e budget and probably the only team where Aussies go back to the NRL to be potential superstars like Jacko BMM Brodie will (wonder which super league clubs are tapping him up) and Joey should have stayed. Ow don't want to go on but Tim Lafai didn't even have a gig walks into any SL team.
Next week is key for you guys if you lose it's probably time for Pearson to stand infront of the cameras again.

| Upto the Leeds game, I thought we were a team who had good forwards, decent defence and tried hard, thought we lacked some creativity. Do with Connor back and the signings of Hoy and Trueman I was looking forward to next season. Not sure now we look a diaster all over, poor in attack and particularly defence. Add in to this shocking discipline I'm finding hard to see us progressing under Hodgson.
Honestly not sure how we how we get out of this rut, bringing through our own players in one way, but that will take 2/3 years, does Pearson and the supporters have the patience for that.

I honestly think the Toulouse game could be the final straw. The easy thing to do is remove Hodgeson, instead of 3-5 high earning players.
IF we do sack Hodgeson I hope the club finish what he's started. Still think their is too much player power and whoever is in charge they'll let them down too.

On the pitch I haven't seen any improvements in the way we play.
Saying that it took Radford two seasons to turn us around, I'm sure 2014 and 15, we were pretty poor.

Yes nearly right, 2014 finished 11 (out of 14), league reduced to 12 in 2015 finished 8th, probably similar to how we will do in the first two years under Hodgson.

Its an interesting piece but the concern and worry is the length of time for this plan to work with no real guarantee it will pay.
Patience with many fans I have spoken with is now at an all time low and many like me who are just losing heart in not just the club but the game in general. Whilst building the foundations for youth to come through is admirable it sadly will not keep the revenue stream coming in to the club. Based on the false promises, jam tomorrow rhetoric we have been given for years now and seeing the same failings season after season following Agar, Gentle, Radford and now Hodgson the future looks bleak for the club. the continuation of playing Houghton for 80 mins and Johnstone etc yet leaving players such as Hookem, Balmforth out the 17 regularly for me doesn't fit the long game philosophy/narrative.
Bonaire may not be universally liked on here but his post a little earlier in this thread raises very valid points, a large number of fans like myself, even Wilf for example (who I would say based on years of reading the diary and his post in here was one of the more optimistic and supportive fans) are now seemingly or becoming very disillusioned in not just the club but the game itself.
If results and particularly performances do not improves between now and the season end then I really do not see the clubs pass holder/members being anymore than 3 or 4K next season and that's being generous.

I've read many comments on social media and the HDM this morning relating to the article, the majority of supporters aren't buying into this I'm afraid. If Pearson and Clark thing using Dan as an extension of the club PR dept. then they've misjudged the mood of the fans.

| My perspective on this has never really altered from watching Hull v Huyton in our lowest ever home gate at the Boulevard, to the awful Shark period and near bankruptcy. Yes we are in a rubbish first team situation at present, and I’m the first to openly criticise our present coach’s struggle.
But considering not having a black & white team to support, and contributing to this outcome will never be in my DNA, it’s always been a rollercoaster ride supporting Hull, the same with many other clubs I presume.
Hell this season I’ve hardly been, but I’ve invested in my club, and will continue to do so, because imagining our town without a Hullrlfc is not worth contemplating. God what would we all do with ourselves, the games in our blood isn’t it, passed down from fathers to sons, it’s crap at the moment, it’s been crap before.
Bonaire will never buy a pass, and Wilf always will, you can complain about methods, success and mediocrity, but intrinsically no matter how poor we are, our support has always and always will be one of the very best. I don’t think Hodgey made a very good fist of the job up to now. Would I like Wane or someone of that ilk probably, will I support our coach who is struggling damned right I will, any kind of weather.

Funny when he first started reporting in the HDM everyone said what a breath of fresh air. Told it like it was. Now he's Pearson's puppet. You can't win. The bloke in my opinion has been honest and truthful. We may not like it but it's more or less nail on the head.

| Everything he says is true, the unfortunate thing is the fans are fatigued by the last few years.
I believe Pearson will hold his nerve and back Hodgson. Looks like he believes the problem is the players, not the coach.

I agree on your point that it would seem a lot of supporters aren't buying in to the plan that Dan alluded to in his article as for me it all just seems a convenient excuse and method to ask for more time yet again if I'm being honest. The fact the club in terms or Pearson and Clark are remaining silent on the recent shambolic performances and season as a whole so far speaks volumes for me.
Not sure the club are using Dan and an extension of the club PR dept as I think its Dans own assessment unless he has been given info from the club in regards to a plan (if it exists).

| I’m giving Hodgson the time to get rid of the ones who haven’t been value for what they have been paid over the last 4 years Some will only be happy with extensions for the “lads” without asking themselves, are they and have they been the problem these past few years?

I'm of a similar opinion. The same players around when Radford was sacked, are now underperforming for Hodgson. It may not be something that is on the pitch, it could be at training, in rehab, on the WhatsApp group for the players - 'leaders' like Tag, Griffin etc. Someone has come out saying Taylor was open with everyone at Beverley RL that he hated Hodgson - if that comes out amongst the group, then it can affect everything
