Considering Naulago has only played a handful of RL games and not played anywhere near top level RU it's remarkable how well he's adjusted. With more games under his belt and a full pre-season he could be a very good player. It also begs the question how many other gems are out there playing lower grade RU who could make it in RL. With the small talent pool in RL maybe more clubs should be following our lead. Well done Radford.

Just younger, better replacements needed in the forwards. Be happy with Jones, Glenn or Thompson and Evans plus one other. Depending what happens with ellis and Westerman we may need another middle too.

Naulago looks the business, doesn’t seem fazed in defence, and looks a threat in attack. As Radders said he will get even better.

adam swift according to the wail. hope he's cheap as he's garbage (and yes I know he scored a hat trick against us but that's hardly any guarantee of quality)

He has real place, but is very error prone, I think garbage is way over the top, if we can keep Ratu and Faramio, along with dawson and sign Swift, I would be happy with our wingers.

Glad we are looking at using our cap better and reducing the squad to add more quality players, with some good prospects coming through this should now be easier to do.

He's a good finisher, the big plus is he makes good metres per game and per carry. So would fit into our system, but as you mentioned he is prone to the odd clanger.

If he is the addition to the back line, i'd be happy. Its the forward pack that needs more attention.

Ok, I did say Carney “think he played” I know he was a dual international, and played Gaelic footy, but without trawling google I would be amazed if he never played Union before league, I suppose his schoolboy records will be somewhere.

Not a big fan of swift but suppose he is better than Logan . I do think some of our signings will go under the radar a bit . No way will we sign 5/6 top quality players , just as long as we get some. Quality in the forwards .

Perhaps he did play some union as a kid, just when you mentioned him I remembered his connection to Gaelic football, hence his involvement in sky's GAA coverage. I know that he was already playing league when Gateshead signed him though.

It’s no problem, but as the OP said, rugby union still, and always has had, some gems to be unearthed. Perhaps we could employ one of our former Welsh players, to scout for us in the valleys

The problem with union is the top clubs have more money to throw at players than the NRL.

Reducing numbers and adding quality then you advocate signing Adam swift? Hes garbage. We already have a garbage saints cast off winger and don't need another need to play in the reserves. 2 first choice wingers with one half decent one in reserve plus some kids who could do a job. Buchanan looks a decent prospect and doesn't need someone else blocking his path to the first team

Agree, Swift is average and as I mentioned in a previous post we have enough cover on the wing. Worrying if true if that's the standard we are signing. If, hopefully Kelly stays the signings should only be quality forwards not squad players as we have enough of them already.

We’d more than happily keep Swift, and a year ago it was a close run race between him and Grace. But Grace has really kicked on in the last year and Swift has rejected our reduced contract offer since he’s now backup.

He’s good enough for first team rugby in SL, just not ahead of Makinson or Grace
