The club has put out some great shirts during the ISC era, but this one is definitely splitting opinion.

The only other kit I can think of that go a mixed re-action was the Sky Blue and White hooped away shirt in 2009, which didn't seem to sell as well as the other shirts.

I will wait and see the shirt in the flesh before I make my mind up...but from the pictures it looks like they've tried to cut costs by applying cheap patches and heatseals rather than a properly designed shirt with embroidery or sublimated logo's.

I would be very surprised if we've tried to cut costs on the shirts like that, given fans in recent years have been critical of the sponsors logos fading/falling off. Not that we'll ever find out.

I can think of a few, but I'd cop a ban for them.

I'm disappointed with the new shirt and won't be getting it. We've had some fantastic shirts in recent seasons like the 2011 home shirt but this one looks a little cheap to me and the placement of the sponsor's logos is just baffling.

The Hull College logo is shocking and every bit as bad as last years KC logo right across the back.

You're baffled, it beats the hell out of you, yet you haven't actually given one reason as to what is wrong with wearing a replica shirt!

Doubt his name is really Billy Batten either, which baffles me as to why he would choose to use a players name as his user name when he will have a perfectly good one of his own to use without the need to try and be a player of yesteryear on a forum.

Well, I got one today from my girlfriend for my birthday on Friday. The club need to take some more pictures as the shirts look MILES better "in the flesh"

Couple of pics of that 2010 home shirt (XL) which I've still got for a tenner if anyone's interested (brand new, with tags and fully packaged which is still sealed). £37 saving on the new 2013 shirt and a very similar style, bargain if you ask me.

Not really a post to give reasons as to why, just my opinion on what is meant to be a public forum to express opinions...

Like I said though, I believe you need to earn the right to wear the shirt and as an adult that possibility has long diminished.

We all have our own ideas, opinions & beliefs and that is what makes forums like this a stimulating place to express and challenge.

I accept that 10,000 or so people obviously go against what I think, but do not get hung up about it, neither should you or anyone else

Yeamo testimonial shirt, it looks alright but depending on how the blue looks in natural light it could be a bit Vicky Pollard...IMO.

Would rather have the Yeamo shirt tbh and I may purchase that instead.

Thats on e of the worst shirts ive ever seen thats associated with Hull FC

Personally I think that any Hull FC strip that does not incorporate the irregular hoops is ridiculous. The irregular hoops are a brand image as distinctive - certainly within rugby league and to some degree beyond - as the Coca Cola logo or the Nike tick. It should be incorporated in to every aspect of the club and not periodically abandoned when a new strip is introduced.

Luckily for the club they don't share your view or they would be 470kish (minus whatever the shirts cost) down each year.
I personally don't have a problem with adults wearing a replica shirt, but no adult should be wearing a full replica kit because it just look wrong with shorts/socks.

Sales were down on the home shirt last year though, so what do you do? Persist with the hoops again, or bring back a design similar to 2010 which had really good sales.

have to disagree, branding evolves and changes all the time in the real world, yes main identities stay constant but the hull brand identity is black and white, not hoops, IMO of course. If we went with hoops every year there would be people calling for change and not buying new shirts. The chevron is also heavily associated with rugby and we have used it before so it's not as if it's completely outlandish and new.

I think the away kit will have hoops fwiw, hope we'll have something similar in design to the 2010 away seeing as I don't know a single person that doesn't like that shirt!
