| After last night I think it's time for a new coach, coaching team and a new culture at the club. We have had continuity in the coaching staff since mcrae was here 15 years ago. Since then we've had new coa

| Quote ="Mrs Barista"You didn't. When context/mitigating circumstances for awful results are pointed out some posters struggle so resort to "club apologist" abuse. Standard fare for those who only see through an anti-Radford lens and have to force the discussion to personal attacks.
In simple terms:
We don't have the resources of bigger clubs and [uhave spent too much of what we do have on a reserves squad for a comp that never happened[/u. This has compromised the relative quality of the first team.
Our recruitment was poor and our squad was light at prop from the getgo, even with Bowden and Green fit.
Resigning Minichiello and Talanoa in overseas spots has prevented us bringing in quality.
We have some injuries, which would not have affected the result against a Top 2 side but may have narrowed the margin.
Of course other teams with smaller budgets are doing well, like Castleford and Wakefield. But currently only to the extent of finishing higher than us. Cas have just lost to bottom club Leeds, Wakefield lost to Rovers and London.
Radford may not be the answer and obviously the buck stops with him so he may get the sack for a long run of largely embarrassing blowouts. But those hallucinating that we have cash for a big back room staff and marquee players should prepare themselves for disappointment. There's a reason Saints, Wigan and Leeds have dominated SL in the last decade or so and it's the same reason Warrington are knocking on the door.
It's not a case of being "satisfied" with the status quo, just being more balanced than "spewing" anti-Radford vitriol. All this internal anger and constant negative repetition must be exhausting.
'"
So have Wakefield.

| Brian Clough won 2 European Cups with Nottingham Forest, however sentiment kept him at the club for far too and his last game saw Forest relegated from the Premier League. Every coach has a lifespan and Radford is no exception. Don’t be remembered as the coach that created Wembley history and then subsequently oversaw 3 record defeats, kept hold of too many has beens and finally took us down.
Do the right thing.

| Hi All, Wire fan in peace. When the clamour started for us to get rid of Tony Smith, I argued long and hard that he didn't turn into a bad coach overnight and it was the players who were letting us down.
Here was a man who had given us long overdue success, had us playing great rugby and rescued us from dross and underachievement year on year and yet he was treated like a leper.
Well, he went, and apart from a tough opening two months under Price when it looked like we had dropped a monumental clanger, we've been on an upward trajectory.
Some of the players look technically totally different, and they all look happier so maybe it's true, everyone has a sell-by date, there's no room for emotion and last week, last year and any glory along the way only belong in the record books.
Good luck for the rest of the season.

| Unfortunately he’s taken this club as far as he can. Poor recruitment has done him. We’re simply not good enough. You could retain only about 18 of the first team squad but it’s going to cost Adam a shed load to build another team and he’s already said in programme notes, he’s looking for investors. We’re going nowhere, fast.
Get used to mediocrity or worse because if things stay the same, we’re heading for the dog fight of relegation and our mental strength will not be up to it, as the terrible run recently has shown.
Not sure another coach could take this squad any further. I think Adam will be planning to replace the coaching team from next season but do now question his resolve and resources to make the big decisions that need to be taken.

| Some of the posts on here are like from a playground squabble, he said this she said that , I meant whatever ... regards Radders I do think he’s a decent coach and hasn’t become a bad one in a few months . But like some have said he is starting to make a few to many records that are not good with record defeats and runs etc . But surely they all can’t be down to bad luck or injuries. Suppose a lot depends on who we sign and resign , is down too .If it’s radders then he must take the blame for the current mess , if not does it give him more time ! Personally I’m in 2 minds what the best outcome is , I’m not one for getting rid after a bad run every time . I just think the club has gone stale , probably needs a new voice and ideas for the players to have and listen to . But if that’s the route we go down , it has to be the right person , not just any quick fix who has had ties with the club . Also some major investment from Pearson to let us catch up with the bigger clubs , but I’m not that confident on Pearson doing that . I do think Radford will see the season out , as long we stay mid table and not fighting a relegation battle .

Good Post , I think Pearson cant afford to wait till the end of the season , with so many of the squad ooc , it doesn't leave the new coach a long timeframe to plan and recruit accordingly .

I firmly believe the club needs investment, AP clearly isn't prepared to do so, he's sunk a lot of money in, two Challenge Cups don't pay the bills, recruitment and retention has been poor.

| How about 2 challenge cups, the Aussie trip, the lineham and watts fees recieved annnnd decent attendances , record pass sales and shirt sales year on year, anybody know what our costs are as it seems there’s a black hole where incomes concerned, and I arnt entirely convinced we’re upto cap .
I shall say it again recruitment and retention has gone bAdly, some serious cases of sentiment and misjudgement. We need somebody with no emotionless life ties to the cub who’s going to be ruthless in retention and recruitment as it needs to be a lot better
As does the reinvestment of income

That’s the problem he’s a decent coach not a top coach that will take us to the next level. I think Radfords done well but there are issues he just does not seem able to sort in terms of discipline on field and slow line speed etc.
Defensively we are awful this season which was a strong point in previous seasons.
Do think Radford and the coaching staff have needed someone else from outside that can bring some freshness into the system and help take us further. That doesn’t seem likely to happen though as if it was it would have done by now.

I will give Radford credit. He works hard, but his latest excuse of playing Thompson at centre left him short of middles doesnt add up.
Whats happened to the players added for squad depth?
Bienek,Levy or even Langtree could have been used but were not even considered as they played for the reserves the previous night
I wonder what they think when they see Paea selected when he is obviously carrying an injury, and Minichello picked time after time despite well below par performances.
We need some size in the middle yet he continues to use Thomson as a front row.
Sneyd,Houghton and Minichello should be dropped and not based solely on last night.
Give Litten a run,and Miloudi at half back at least until Connor comes back.Even then i would play Connor at right centre and let Carlos play left where he is much more comfortable.
Griffin can move onto the bench when the wings are fit
Pearson has a big decision to make whether to act before easter of leave it to the end of the season to change the coaching staff.

I agree , if Pearson has no intention of keeping radders for next season he needs to get rid asap so the new coach can sign his own players or else it will take the new coach another 2/3 years to get his own team . Some big decisions to make for Pearson to make .

Don't see why you are critising Sneyd and Houghton, both having decent seasons playing with a packing that isn't good enough. Although it's time to use Litten more.
In fact at full strength, I'd say our backs are good to enough to compete and I wouldn't worry about recruiting there except a winger (Where I'd look to either Lineham or any of Wigan wingers).
It's forwards (Or are least forwards who aren't injury prone) and need a leader in the pack.
I wouldn't be bothered if we didn't keep any of the main OOC players except Westy, Sneyd and possible Faramino.
Time to get better value for money.

| I assumed Litten was injured when he wasn't named in the 17, crazy if he was left out and not injured as he adds a bit of spark from the bench.
Said it ages ago, Minichiello is done, cooked finished. Manu just about done as well, now is the time to eject some enthusiasm and some younger hungry players.

Who should he have played at centre against a destructive three quarter line?
We were missing Shaul. Connor, Naulago, Talanoa and Scott with Logan out on loan. The point around the middles is fair but with our starting 6 in the pack starting the game and absentees I understand his thinking personally. The consequence was obviously Thompson lacking the pace to handle his opposite number and missing 9 tackles.

No it's only us that have injuries, you're missing the point, they don't affect other teams, honestly.
