I work with one of kirks close family member (not saying who) and he says kirk in the past has had many contract offers from the likes of Leeds Warrington etc but turned them down as he has only wanted to play for hull therefore I highly doubt that he's signed for Salford

Arundel and Crookes will improve with game time. Hard position they are in at the moment, a hell of a lot of pressure to perform when they get their rare chance to try and out perform Yeaman and Briscoe.

And how do you find out whether "squad" players and youngsters can hack it without playing them? It's no good having 13 players who may or may not be good enough sat around kicking their heels and never being tested. If they're ultimately not good enough then they have to go to stop them blocking potential spaces for youngsters improving past them or better players being signed from elsewhere. These players have to be given a chance and more importantly Gentle has to have an opportunity to see what they can do and take a view. I think he believes the cup is key and the league games will by necessity used to rotate his squad with the likelihood being that we'll finish 5th to 8th come what may. We should have beat Cas despite everything and Gentle would have taken and probably expected a scruffy win. The overall disappointing thing is that we all want to believe that we're almost there but in truth with results like this it just demonstrates that the squad still lacks quality especially the quality of intelligence.

Eh? I never said we shouldn't play them at all. In fact, I'm pleased our our squad depth has come on over the last couple of years. I merely stated that Arundel and Crookes are in a hard position to fill Yeamo and Briscoe's boots, but with game time they will improve.

I expect Yeamo and Briscoe to both be back in the starting line up next week, as well as Tickle.

I was agreeing with you in so far as if they don't play they'll struggle to improve and if Gentle doesn't see them at SL level how can he know whether they're good enough.

Arundel is not Yeamos replacement he came to takeover from Martin and Crooks is was intended to be Yeamos replacement . Its only through injury to Arundel and Yeamo that Crooks got his chance, (and how well as he done since).
