Jesus....3rd match in with a new coach and structures that the players are getting used to...new pivotil players in 1 and 7,another pivot out for 12 weeks,our,arguably,starting hooker injured which is another pivot....yes,we are light in the prop department and maybe we do need to look at getting 1 in on loan maybe?

If this was to happen after rd 12 then id be well pi$$ed off but we are work in progress and dont have the divine right to beat anyone and those of you that think we do and are slinging the abuse about then do us a favour and stay away.....we are building for the future and i would sooner do that than wreck it all with high expectations this season.

I'm more worried about some of the reactions to this result than the result itself.

It's not all bad, at least their 300 fans have gone home happy.

They were far more clinical and that was the difference. Props weren't a problem, we marched them down the pitch with ease all game. Hope to see us improve offensively when we get a few dry tracks.

I do find it amusing when people can write off a season based on one away game they haven't even seen.

As I said a couple of times during the game when we had periods of possession we looked by far the better team. The penalties absolutely killed us and the problem is coming from us keeping hands on the ball after the tackle is complete and the opposition is trying to play it. Schoolboy stuff. We were always going to have a couple of poor results along the way this season and I think we all acknowledged pre-season that it would be a long process to undo the bad habits and yet after our first lose of the season some are looking to slit their wrists.

Yes....does happen you know,no matter who you play but you arrogant inbreds expect to win all the time.

and to add, if we are playing poorly and only losing by 2 points, we are not a million miles away.

It's always disappointing to lose, but i agree what has been said its a little early to be getting downbeat.
Things need to be learned so lets hope that happens, improvements need to be made but there's still nearly a full season to make them.
At the end of the day you sometimes beat teams you expect to lose to and get lose to teams you should beat, that's sport unfortunately/thankfully.

It is early but having now seen every side a couple of times, we are miles away from Wire, Saints, Cats, Wigan, Hudds and Leeds. We are in a fight for 7th place (again) and it will be a long season.

If we have an average or slightly above average amount of injuries, we will be screwed because our squad of forwards is embarrassingly thin.

Gentle has "bigged up" our youngsters but it seems obvious to me that he isn't that keen to actually play them when it matters.

Correct. Arguably we've put a marker down tonight, and it's a poor one. In the short term, this sort of result is hardly likely to entice the floating voter to the KC for the Wakefield game either. Tonight was an opportunity to build some momentum at a team we beat easily last season, and it was blown. Disappointing.

I agree , I was just trying to find out the penalty count for each team we've played so far . Not sure on tonight , 13 against us v London. Wire anyone?

Surprisingly enough, you don't always get to beat the teams you beat last season.

and did you really expect a side that contains the likes of Sharp, Martin and Aspinwall to be up there with Wigan and Wire? the sooner Hull fans stop thinking Hull are as good as the Australian National side but just having a few years of bad luck the better.

we are an average team, that will finish in an average position...but are hoping to build to become a good team finishing in a good position next year.

as for your comment about Gentle not playing youngsters, he has coached us for 3 competitive games, where you expect him to draft in the entire U19 squad for the Wire game or something?

It was well into double figures tonight, I think. Dunno about Wire, but it seemed high.

Not really, most of us are just looking for reason for optimism and reality bites again.

We'll be lucky to avoid relegation at this rate!
