I agree with you, but the last few seasons have shown that it's far easier to blame all the defensive problems of the right side on the winger.

Depends what they're looking at for hooker I reckon. I expect Ellis to be their starting hooker, but beyond that they look weak IMO.

I must admit it is a bit concerning, unless Mr Mcrae is just playing the game with the HDM, we may have so much money free but need Obst`s wage to give us enough cap space to allow us to finalise the proposed 2 signings, plus we need his quota spot if we are to sign someone from overseas.

If were so awash with cash now Pearson owns us then why dont we just pay Obst off in full and then we can bring a new face in - surely he wont be on that much? All seems very strange to me and doesnt look good for the future that such a simple thing cant be sorted.

Obviously there's no way of ever knowing for sure, but I'd be stunned if we were anywhere near the cap with the current squad. Far more likely that McCrae is just keeping his cards close to his chest, if he went around saying we had loads of cap space, the players we were after would no doubt up their demands.

Ah, so we can discount any praise Fubar ever got for his recruitment then.

I suspect because we don't want to be seen as a club that conducts itself in that manner in terms of player treatment. If we (effectively) kick him out for other players, we may struggle to get players to sign if they feel that might happen to them in the future.

I've no problem with us "doing the right thing" with Sam. If he finds another club, great for him and us. If not, so be it, he'll put the effort in for us if and when required.

But if "kicking him out" means him getting the same money for the year without having to lift a finger, is that really so bad?

Our lack of depth for 2012 in the forwards is frightening.

People should just wait and see . Obst could go yet then a forward will be brought in. Don't think the's need to panic yet

AP's rallying calls and "inferred promises" for Oct/Nov and next season are just not being reflected in our squad.

We lack real quality in some areas and, although we have a great starting pack, we have a very serious depth problem there.

Maybe not, but I think Standee mentioned earlier that if we start treating players badly we're going to find it more difficult to recruit players, something I agree with. Yes, they're all big boys now, but all it takes is one player to start badmouthing us and the days of us signing the likes of Fitz etc may be long gone.
