Pleased for Sharp, too many people quick to write him off last season. He was head and shoulders the motm yesterday and has consistently out played Briscoe in every game this season.

Really pleased for him yesterday. I always fear for him every time a ball goes up, as if he bombs it, its multiplied by the reaction of (some, not all of) the crowd.
It makes me think back to one game last year were he got subbed and the crowd cheered at the decision.

Yup, he'd have been hung drawn and quartered by the majority on here last year.

Was talking to a couple of guys at work today who had him as their number one choice to get rid of last year and throughout the close season. Both now holding their hands up for writing him off early and even open to keeping him beyond his current contract if he can keep his performances up.

It seems Hall is doing o.k. for the you know whos,it makes you wonder just how much these two were being held back,and having their confidence drained.

From what I've seen, it seems as though he's doing well in attack, but not so well in defence.

Compared to the current England captain he sounds like prince philip

Will was a victim last year of the worst sliding defence in SL, his ball in hand work was never in question but was left to look like a turnstile too often by the rest of the defence leaving him way too much work to do...

One thing looks certain this year , come on Tommy lad you have a long way to go to catch up to will sharp whi is by far the better of the two wingers presently.... a crack or two starting to show in Tom B??

Sharps had a good start to the season and has out performed our 'superstar' winger Briscoe.
Imo Briscoe has made his mind up and he wants to go to the NRL.

Why does the bigging up of Will Sharp's current form have to come with a dig at Tom Briscoe?

Not sure there seems to be a bit of an anti Tom Briscoe gang at the moment, not sure why, people think he is immune from criticism, but I have seen plenty on here over the past few seasons.

After watching every game this year I have seen no lack of effort from Briscoe at all this year and I am sure that he will come good.

It's down to the belief he is imminently leaving us so some have to convince themselves he's now rubbish.

Bit tough to shine on the wing when the opposition don't kick to you and your team mates never pass to you

My comments about Briscoe are not related to Sharp. I simply stated Sharp's form has been great and Briscoe's has been poor. People talk about Briscoe as this world class player who could play in the NRL but right now I believe he still has alot to learn and lacks game sense. He has all the attributes but his rugby brain isn't the best. Right now Charnley and Hall would be my England wingers if I was picking the team today.

I'm hoping Gentle will develop Briscoe's game.

Briscoe isnt playing well because the left side hardly sees any ball anymore. an when they do, it usually stops with yeamo..

Our left hand partnership has scored 6 tries (3 each) so far this season, our right hand side has scored 1.

Said the same in that pathetic thread after the Salford game where he was getting blamed for both of their tries in the 1st half.

Would have lost a heap of money on Briscoe becoming the rlfans whipping boy for this season.

He's shown himself to be capable of international rugby, which Will Sharp is unlikely ever to achieve. That's not a dig at Sharp, by the way, most players will never be good enough for international rugby.

I've never said Briscoe isn't better than Sharp, it's not even close. All I said is currently Sharp is in much better form.

The main reason Sharp is getting praise is because he is getting targetted by sides and dealing with it well. Its not Briscoes fault sides never target him if anything its testament to how highly thought of he is.

If that was the only factor, but Briscoe has been relatively poor in attack this season too

The only difference I can see is that he isnt winning the penalties that he has been in the previous seasons and his carries from acting half may be slightly down. His finishing when given the opportuinity is still really impressive and he seemed to have a perfect try disallowed on Sunday.

I'd say he is. Briscoe seems a little distracted to me, he'll come good but considering how good he is I would say he is below par at present. He is not doing that much wrong but isn't performing to his usual high standards. For me the good thing is we now have two good wingers which can only be a positive. Well for now until Briscoe goes..?
