Club bias aside, we should be punished IMO. The fact is that although those involved are no longer here, our CEO was involved in trying to cover up the events surrounding a failed drugs test which is a disgrace for a senior official of any sporting club. If it were any other club I'd be of the opinion they should be punished so I can't change my views just because it's my club.

Still don't understand what Rule thought he would gain by not letting Gleeson and Cooper take the fall. As others have said, it was hardly the greatest season ever and we were never serious challengers.

Let them get bans and walk away embarrassed but safe. Poor judgement again from Mr R

ask about the Slimming tablets ..If we have medical problems

There have been sanctions - against the people who committed the offences. All three of them have very likely had their careers terminated. What extra deterrent would it be for people who weren't even at the club at the time to be sanctioned?

Any punishment will be for bringing the game into disrepute rather than the offences that took place.

Plenty of deterrent at Hull and other clubs to not do anything in the future if it means a fine or points deduction. Otherwise you just get some other sap to be the fall guy next time

A few thoughts...

What puzzles me about this affair is the behaviour of James Rule in that what he has done seems so stupid and irrational. In Gleeson's case, the whole affair is easily explained by his proven record of being dim and naive off the field.

James Rule, however, whatever his faults, is not stupid, so this leads one to wonder if there is a lot more "behind" this than the public findings display.

Talking of behind, again whatever his faults, don't think Rule should carry the can for the empolyment and retention of Agar. It was Kath Hetherington who stood squarely behind him.

As for Agar's role in the affair, at least we should look at what was (presumably) his selection of someone so clearly second rate in the vital role of conditioner. Watching the games you often wondered how our conditioning stacked up against the top sides, think it is safe to say that someone who can't even check a supplement on a website is unlikely to be at the cutting edge of strength and conditioning. Pleased that our new conditioner is clearly from a different intellectual level, someone who on this basis would not have been employed by Agar!

In a sad way I kind of hope they investigate it further because I feel sure they would find that someone else was pulling the strings, as has already been said JR is no fool and he must have had some support/pressure from above.

If Kath and co were still here that'd be valid. How much of a deterrent is it to folk who weren't involved in the first place?

Which brings us neatly back to the question of individual versus corporate responsibility.



The people who brought the game into disrepute are no longer at the club. If the club is found to have a corporate responsibility then the RFL would have to go after Kath and the other ex board members or be open to challenge. Can you see them doing that?

Got to feel sorry for the new board and staff.

Why, they clearly had nothing to do with it.

It's old news now (in fact, it's "so last year"!)

Because its a distraction and sullied the Hull FC brand.

At least its off season and the players and staff don't have to answer journalists about it every week.

Rugby this month! Hopefully we can put it behind us and once the games start its forgotten about.

The sad thing is the whole situation stinks,and those responsible have left the crap behind for someone else to clean up.
Lets hope for reasonable success on the pitch so as we can leave this farce behind us.
