Expecting nothing but a dry bumming from a red hot Catalan side looking to bounce back from their surprising defeat to Hudds, and I can't see where our try scoring opportunities come from without Connor unfortunately. Hope those going fly without bother and enjoy some sun at least.

As for rumours; Connor, Reynolds, and Gale for French, Trueman, and Hawkins sounds like good business as much as we'll miss Connor.

Probably just endless attempts at getting Satae to barge over the line from short range for the next few months then.

Think you've gotta go with the safe option of Shaul this week as you say but it's clear the club doesn't want him anymore and he is more than happy to wait out his contract so Litten should get some games under his belt to see what he's got.

Think Shaul is a safe choice for Saturday, go into the international break and asses your options ahead of what will be a big game vs Wire.

So the 21 man squad is out, bit disappointed as with Connor out I'd have liked to have seen Balmforth at least given a shot to spell Houghton and had Lovodua in the halfs to try and at least look like we might offer some attacking flair.

Our 1, 6 and 7 have very little creativity, out of form and none will be here next season.

Big test for Hodgson now, ourcseason collapsed when Connor got injured last season, this season that can't happen, if it does he surley can't keep his job, two seasons finishing below 6th?

We may lose Saturday. But I think we will still finish in top 6.

I don't mind losing this week, we will have probably lost with Connor playing, but we can't collapse in the league like last year.

Totally agree. Despite the Wakefield loss we are 5th which is acceptable. Not that ambitious but I'll take that for now. Losing Connor is a big blow but most clubs lose key players so you can't use that as an excuse.

We are not capable of winning the competition anytime soon but we need to show signs of progress. Not qualifying for the play-offs would be an abject failure and Hodgson's position should be untenable.

In Connors 117 SL Games for Hull he has something like 105 assists.

Buoyed by predicting my first correct Hull result this season will go for a narrow Catalans win.

Trivia Alert!! The article by Bill Dalton on the club website has brought back memories of my visit to France in 1957 to watch Hull play against Carcassone and Albi in the inaugural European Club Championship which we won. Loved this trip to Southern France.

Regarding team selection, I'd not pick Reynolds, if he is selected, then McNamara will instruct his runners to run at him all game.

My gut feeling, is that I don't have confidence in Hodgson or Purtill to change our attack system at all.
