We can't knock Agar for signing SL proven players, who we know can play half and hooker, rather then taking a chance on a lower league player who has limited experience in the position and who might not be good enough! Briggs shone because he played in his position, would he have done just as well at hooker? Maybe so, probably not.

If he was that good, he'd've been picked up by now and if he is that good, then there must be off-field reasons why no-one's picked him up.

The logic on here does amaze me at times:

We can a) sign an ageing mediocre Aussie on a two year deal who at least we have a fair Idea what we will get from him.

or

b) take a chance on a highly rated young prospect from the national league who may fail miserably at this level but could far exceed what Obst provides and remain at the club for the best years of his career.

Both are valid and logical choices IMO.

Sums us up perfectly again, the masses will be pleased to settle for that

Agar's judgement may very well be suspect but the fact that no-one else has come in for Moore means that every other head coaches' judgement is suspect too.

Or possibly the fact that most other clubs are all pretty much sorted for Half Backs so he is not on any ones radar??

Recent history of Wakey v Rovers would suggest Obst is not to Shabby as he usually gives Rovers a lot of problems

Possibly, but being British, Non-Quota, Fed-Trained and cheap(ish), would still make him an attractive proposition to a lot of clubs if he was that good.
