Not likely, we can only buy british now as we have no overease spots and there are not tonnes of british players with quality going spare.

Just a thought will he actually be at the game on Sunday as he's not mentioned it nor was he asked by Carpet on Humberside.

Think at present from what he has said it looks the best for Hull FC to have a new owner, as seems the old BOD couldnt agree on how to take the club further and were in a stalemate.

He's made mistakes,as he's readily admitted in the past,but overall the good far outweighs the bad....he needed extra investment in the club when he sold his interests to Duffen/Bartlett in 2007,that was the plan.Duffen messed up whilst the club was in the Prem,long after Pearson had gone....

Brown got City into the Premier League,making him the most successful manager in the club's history.

And as far as Allam is concerned,a lot of the comments regarding mergers were in relation to his beneficial nature in regards to Hull's sporting teams ("i couldn't buy one club without buying the other" etc) and were taken out of context.His loan to Rovers was an example of that.Anyway,he'd be under no illusion if he tried to purchase the club of it's history,significance to the community and it's identity......but i doubt the previous regime wouldn't have held back in selling him the club on the back of some quotes delivered off the cuff during an interview....

Some of the paranoia exhibited on this board in relation to Allam is alarming.

Some of us remember the club at its worst under Lloyd and Wilby so excuse us for not wanting to get our fingers burned again.. Once bitten and all that.

Have to say the more I think about it the more I have to agree in that Assem Allam seems to thrive in the public attention and his ego wouldn't let anyone else get the glory and adulation of buying a club and being a silent owner.

As I have said, the two are not comparable, Lloyd was a chancer, always had been, AP is an established business man. The negativity astounds me, maybe people would have been happier muddling along under Kath and the other unambitious BOD.

Sorry Standee, I was quoting White with Clover over Allam not Pearson. I have a great respect for Pearson. My colleague some years ago now, went to work at Hull City, he interviewed her for the job and she has nothing but praise for him. A very reasonable man by all accounts.
