It's not experience that was the problem though. It was the performance. It's not all about the bench by any means there were players who started who weren't up to par. But Taylor and Watts are miles ahead of the next props in the line. Take Ellis and Mini out of it and we look much weaker. Early days like I said.

I was at Leeds on Friday night and they were nothing special, only winning because 2 mahoosive forward passes were missed in their last try.

That being said, they'll still get their usual 4 points off us more than likely

Speaking to my collegue at who is from Leeds and a staunch Loiner he said they will struggle to make any impact this season and wont do anything until they get rid of McDermott (or 'Big Eck' as he calls him). He was quite brutal in his appraisal of the current squad they have and said people saying they're shoe for the 8 and won't be as bad as last season are looking at a different team to him.
He was also quite adament that they were 'bloody lucky' to have beaten Leigh & Salford

Can't comment on the Salford game but if Atelea Vea wasn't so bloody useless Leigh would have pinched that one. I've seen Leeds play twice now and they are not a good side. Saints don't look much better.

How I see it also. There isn't a lot of love for McDermott in Leeds and many are astounded that he still has a job after last season!

If a FC coach had won what he has (7 trophies) we'd been talking about him in revered terms.

I think it's more to do with the fact it's now very clear that it was the class of the players that won them the trophies rather than anything McDermott did.

Friday could have been a great show of two sets of world class forwards battering 10 bells out of eachother, but the RFL continue to completely jez it. It's a physical contact sport and any neutrals or newcomers seeing penalties and charges doled out like this won't be converted any time soon.

Both are harsh IMO, the Taylor challenge wasn't that bad, and Grade D for Watts is way over the top, considering he was also sunbinned. Let's hope Ellis is fit and Taylor can get off.

So Sam Moa has been charged with the same as Taylor.

Further proof that if one was a penalty then the other should have been as well.

Moa should get off as he did nothing - Taylor should get banned for acting a most of the night, Watts will also gett banned and for a few games but if anything his was just an accident

2 games in and we'll have had 3 players banned already, possibly losing those 3 key players for up to 8 matches. Injuries are part of the game but foul play leading to bans is just bl00dy stupid. We could well lose the next couple of games due to being down on numbers

You're right. We all talk about leadership regarding Ellis. So when he's off and we need it what do we do? Our props go out and lose us 1 game and possibly more and put every1 else under pressure. 'Stupid' is being kind

Watts ruined any chance of us getting back and has put us under immense pressure for the coming weeks
Lost us any chance of winning between then. I love a big hit. I like winning more
