If Miller leaves then Gale makes sense, Mason is just experienced cover, Watts injury has prompted this I reckon.

Be disappointed if signing Mason means Bowden, Green and BTW don't get the get valuable game time.

Mason is 32 and average, superleague site has him down as retired.

I doubt a fight just a few hours ago would mean they are already going out the door. The club would hold a disciplinary and its a Sunday.

He tweeted in reply to somebody else saying something along the lines of, "Carvell in, Watts out for 6 weeks, think still one prop short".

"Carvell in" sounds like deal has been done. Also he retweeted something about a Bradford paper having back page news tomorrow about one of the players. Obviously Carvell, hopefully saying he has now left.

Not too bothered about either Gale or Mason. Would rather have Miller, and would rather give game time to BTW before jumping in and signing Mason as if we give him some games it may turn out we had enough props all along.

Terrible off season planning, changing 3 players, one is a really key position, 4 days before the season starts if this us all true.

Don't think Bowden is going to ever be good enough unfortunately, a victim of a lack of investment during the Agar/Hetherington reign. Green's crocked and BTW is still very young, although I do reckon he'll be in front of Mason by midway through the year.

We will never find out about players like Bowden if we don't give a chance, signing an average prop like Mason won't help. People said crooks wasn't ready, but as soon as he got the chance he showed how good he was.

Also Green us expected to be fit for Friday.

SL contracts are usually from 1 November.

Not sure about Mason but continue to hope that Carvell will be our player next week. As regards the young props it's really tricky - I worry about both Green and Bowden making it but on the other hand I think it's the toughest position of the lot to be a young player in. It's really hard playing at prop at this level and I reckon you need a few years under your belt to really mix it with the senior pros, with the odd outstanding exception. I guess we're on the lookout as a result of injuries but also the coaching staff will know the performance of the squad in training and maybe some are struggling to hack it. If we get Mason I hope it would be a cheap deal.

Give your heads a bang. Greens ok but has no consistency, Bowden is poor and doesn't look like he wants to be there most of time. Carvell and Mason would be good quality grind it out forwards who would work a lot with the forwards we already have.

For once in ages im excited about the possibility of players coming in and its seeming Radford has got a clue as he's addressing key issues or so it seems. Carvell, Mason and Gale in would make us a top 8 team with grunt who could go further.

Maybe Shannon McDonnell not being available for selection for 6 months is a factor?

Why did we let Andy Lynch go? If we knew we was going to struggle for grafting props. Even ogre wanted to do a u-turn on retirement, bomber & gentles recruitment baffles me!

Think it's a value for money decision, especially around McDonnell & Miller. Hard to disagree, although I would have liked Miller to have been given more of a chance.

yet Radford said we did not need any more props last year. Now he has obviously decided we do.
Now with less that a week till kick off we are desperatley trying to sign forwards. Think the game against Fev showed him how lacking we are up front.

From watching wigan v hudds, I think our current bunch of front rowers are to light & nice to compete in a wrestle & bully/dominate, but the halfs need this to happen to get on the front foot, been in-experienced in the halfs also is a massive worry imo.
