Agreed. Horne and Cooke offered great balance though.

I would say the form of Witt was the driving factor in NZWs great end to last season as he was playing as the lone halfback as they started games with 2 hookers.

I think Witt and Horne would work very well together as Witt is a very good organiser and superb kicker.

Without a doubt it was, he was excellent. I would say Fien was doing most of the organising tbh but Witt does possess a very good kicking game which anyone playing alongside Horne would need.

At least I'm not the only one who thinks that. Stop gap signing for me. No way should we be going into next season with him and Horne as the 1/2's

I've been to the three games so far and I think that Horne is doing quite a lot of the organising. This contrasts from the Leeds friendly when Thorman ran the show in terms of organisation. Also, Horne is still actually kicking quite a bit. Not as much as Thorman, but more than I thought he would

I've only been to the Crusaders game, but that was certainly the case there.

I always thought he was an exciting player with ball in hand at Leeds and pretty good defensively, a player I rated a good few years back.

Although I wouldn't go as far as saying exciting, I do agree that he was a good player at Leeds. I say it all the time, that players who sign for Wigan generally have a hard time of reaching the standard they did at their previous club(s) and that when they leave, they should be given some time. However, the problem with Mathers is the fact he is a cowardly little sh*t who gives away too many penalties nowadays. He would be nearly as bad a signing as Cockayne

I never did. He had pace and reasonably good hands, but his defence was never better than average. He was also a dirty player and fond of the cheap shot.

The players around him made him look better than he was and I was quite surprised when he went to the NRL.
