Morley - Monaghan - Wood is also older than Carvell - Houghton - Lynch as a front row, so age shouldn't be a massive concern.

Although he'll be another year older, this is a damn good point. If he is signing I'd offer a year with the possibility of an extension after that

Forwards (particularly props) tend to get better later in their careers than other positions so age shouldn't be too much of an issue. Isn't Menzies 40 next year?

Apparently he is with us for next pre season (on pay etc) but has no full contract. Like a trial I've heard and if he proves his worth he might get a deal. I've seen a couple of Donnie games and heard a lot from him. Has potential but heard he's the mind of player that can be lazy but when he is up for it he can be a top player! Donnie are on PremierSports and online streams tonight so lets see how he goes, that's if he's playing.

Carvell doing well from what I've seen of him this season. 2 years at very most, but still a quality prop.

The availability of quality props is so bad that saints have signed Richie Beaumont and re-signed laffranchi. We'll have to make do with carvel and 2 years is too long IMO

Long and detailed article in tomorrow's Sun saying we're after talented musician Mickey, along with Wigan. We should concede defeat anyway after the genius headline "Wigan Paea". I'd be happy with Carvs for a year, (would be a good signing if he stays fit) but only if we got another Animal like Paea.

Same goes for Thompson, I'm hoping to get a star signing to help draw back some stay away fans. And as I said the other day, with Galea, Tickle, Briscoe and Omeley all leaving it should give us a good wedge to sign 2 or 3 good new players.

Brett Waller as a junior was lazy and had no bottle. He is a big lad and if he has altered his mind set well who knows. But for me forget Carvell and bring on Foi Foi MOI MOI........... that would do nicely
