Will have to get an oversea half, no real other choice.

Is the Half so Horne can go to 1?
To Lose Seymour, McKinnon, Turner, Briscoe and Ellis out of our back line would take big recruitment and i'm not sure theres enough british talent to go round unless we pay massive transfer fees.
1. Horne/Lyne
2. Sharp/Lineham
3. Arundel/Crooks
4. Yeaman
5. Crookes
6. ?
7. ?

Isn't O'Meley getting to that over the hill , overpaid etc etc etc GREAT player that he is tho
Sheldon is right about the Aussie mkt - they are paid more in 'real' terms here and the Aussie $ is SO strong that British Clubs would have to break the bank to buy an average non-test playing Aussie and Gentle knows this and thinks ' why bother ?'
WE shouldn't be spending 100k a year on an average 30+ aussie

It does have a better look, hopefully Briscoe will hang around for another year.

| Not sure why everyone seems to be assuming Johnson would be a direct replacement for O'Meley. We went into this season 1 prop short, so even if we did sign Johnson we should still be looking for replacements for both Moa and O'Meley if they do leave. Johnson also plays back row, so you could quite as easily say he might be a replacment for Aspinwall, in which case he's younger, has more potential, and I think has a better injury record, so would be an improvement.
Still think it's strange that people seem to be passing judgement with apparent certainty on our recruitment/retention for next year based on rumours, when the facts that remain are that it is only just May and the only official announcements are that we've effectively replaced Manu with Ellis.

We signed Pitts mid season, also Bowden looking good, I agree though it is an area we should be strengthening more if Moa & O'Meley go.

Not convinced Pitts is a prop, personally, and he's effectively a replacement for Burnett IMO. Regardless of what Gentle says about mobility Pitts does need to bulk up a bit if he's going to play prop, the games against Hudds and Wigan showed how he'll be bumped off through the middle if he doesn't. If the Johnson rumour is true and we do indeed lose Moa and O'Meley, next year's props so far are Lynch, Johnson, O'Carroll and Bowden. We need at least one more there IMO, preferably 2.

| After reading Gentle's comments I think we are going to be left a little underwhelmed by our signings for next year. The signings we have 'apparently' made are not about to land us in the top four (Arundel, Crookes, Johnson). Young players with potential but they will need time.
Think our overseas signing will be a prop.

We turned him down once, and signed a much inferior halfback. Although 5 clubs in total failed to recognize his ability before Catalans snapped him up.

Not including the Johnson rumour, I assume? Has to be a minimum of 2 coming in if Moa/O'Meley go, Johnson possibly one of them.
