I rate both players very highly, and I think Turner could go on to International if he carries on with his development, however Whiting arguably offers more with his versatility. I will be upset to lose a young prospect like Turner, though I would be devastated to lose a player like Whiting.

You know my views on Turner but i agree 100% about Whiting.

i agree about whitings versitillity BUT turner has miles more potential, i feel whiting is at his peek and will gt no better from now on, turner on the other hand has time and pace on his side...with a good coach he could be an outstanding outside back in my oopinion...only one way whiting is going to go over the next 2 years or so and that aint any further or faster than he is now im affraid

Whiting has just moved into the pack and is improving week in week out and is no-where near his peak and will only get better.

It's all bollock$ clubs don't need permission to talk to agents and players don't need permission to talk to agents. If its found a club has sent sobody around to a players house to tap him up then thats wrong which is fare enough.

The report says that McRae was ‘asked’ about Turner.
That would be because of the rumours surrounding Turner.

I doubt he is going to speak at this time about Whiting unless also asked.

Actually that's wrong an agent can't approach another club without the club the player is contracted too giving permission first and it's the same with clubs approaching an agent of a player under contract they have to have permission off the players club.

I know it goes on but this is what the actual rules dictate should happen.

well, what i will say is that, ellis is my starting 6 ahead of a way past his best horne for a start.... martin is miles past it, aspinwall i would keep on the basis that he's suprised me in his attitude etc.... as for nicklas, another anthony thackeray springs to mind....and we all know what happend to him...
simple fact s are, we still arent good enough...we keep onto people for too long, even when its clear there past there best..... horne, o'meley,martin,manu can all be replaced by younger,cheaper players from elsewhere....
to offer a guy like manu a 3 year deal at 32 is bordering on suicide in my opinion, we should get rid, and use the cash more wisely..
ellis is a differant kettle of fish, he is world class end of..and worth the gamble, manu on the other hand wants top money but is he actually that good??? to command top interantional players wages? me thinks not

Dont agree at all, Whiting would be an asset to all SL clubs IMO.

Think people are getting a bit carried away by Turner, it's Ok looking good against Rovers and London, but he still has to prove himself against the top clubs IMO, which he still hasn't done this season.

Ellis your starting 6?? What has he actually done when he has come into the side? Picked wrong options, done a couple of decent kicks, shown poor passing ability. You have seen how much we miss Horne when he is out the side.

Is Manu actually that good??? Are you watching the same player i am. He is a freak, no other player in SL like him and his stats back that up

Ellis has been average to poor apart from a good kicking spell against Bradford, Horne been good this year.

Ellis is miles away from Hornes standard, that's not to say I see Horne taking us to the next level though, but to say Ellius is better than Horne is laughable.

And Manu is an excellent SL player, is his worth the wages he wants? Not sure as we don't know how much money he wants.

I think you under value whiting. His ability to read a game, intercept passes which he does more than most and his defence are all first class.
I regard him as a valuable member of our team and someone fans will remember fondly when he retires.
Always dependable and loyal to the cause.

He is better than Lauaki and Kirke who both feature regularly in their respective teams.
