There is a place on FC Voices Committee set asside for a representative of an Independant supporters group just as there is for Black and whites, the disabled supporters and the ex players. B&W decided not to take the option up but the other two have representatives there at every meeting. That place is there for any representative nominated by The ISA, that is built into the constitution of FC Voices. I would hope that the two groups could work together and no doubt the members of Fc Voices would, as the new group gained some momentum, decide themselves whether they still had a role to play!

In fact I would hope that there would be a place on the new organisations Committee for a representative from FC Voices!

I think you will find that the members of Fc Voices are a bit above open warfare and and would only get involved when they could help.

It is hardly likely that they would side against the fans organisation, they are more likely on certain issues to either support them or stand aside and let the ISA get on with it! When FC Voices got as many fans saying they backed Friday games as those who said they were against them they just decided to do nothing because as they have no mandate from a membership they could not get a clear indication of what the fans wanted!

There is no place for meglamania in this excercise if there was it would fail!!!

It will not be in any new organisations interest to go ham fisted at it and expect an organisation who have built a strong relationship with the club to fold before they have even found out whether the club will talk to them!!

That would look really unproffessional for starters! The new organisation needs to be concentrating on building a relationship with the club first and formost, and opointing out to the club the benifits of working together, rather than looking for absolute power as far as the fans organisations are concerned!

But this is the point that we try to make, FC Voices members don't have opinions as a group.(Maybe as individuals we do but not as a group) Fans come to us with a query/problem/question, we try to find answers or work with the club to resolve issues. Thats why we have representation of fans and groups.

If we end up with B&W,ISA,FCVoices then nobody can claim to representa genuine majority of the fans, a strong B&W asscoiation is the way forward in my opinion.

I dont think FC voices have ever tried to claim they represent the majority of fans, they have no membership so how could they? Time will tell if the B&W association is the way to go.

As for Standee he is not the messiah hes a very naughty Boy!!!

The B&W is a very fine organisation and has long been the back bone of the club, it has however suffered a declining membership. It is IMHO opinion a touch expensive for most fans at £5 a month each.

HISA should be a lot lot cheaper and although we will not have annual dinners at Willerby Manor @£25 a head. A Xmas do at Charleston could become the height of the winter social season to Mr and Mrs Average FC supporter.

The B&Ws are not a pressure group and I do not think that FC talk to them except through FCVoices and since Albert left for the playing fields in the sky, there seat at FCVoices is also vacant.

Correct, so there are 2 spaces available HISA & Black and White Association on the FC voices table.

When i relinquished my HISA role on the FC voices committee i did on the understanding that the place would be kept vacant for the future.

Correct to a point! That point being that they are currently two organisations, so there are two places however if they were to amalgamate into one Independant supporters organisation then there would only be one place as the constitution of FC Voices states,

" (ii) Member organisations will decide their own representatives. One representative only per organisation will be allowed at any meeting".

As for you making sure the place was kept vacant that is also true but to a certain extent irrelevant because the same constitution states that there is always a place at the table for a representative of any bona fide supporters organisation.

What if they dont merge but create a working partnership



Maybe time to relook at the consitiution too, becuase surely if the fans organisations become strongerm there will be less need for individuals on the FC voices commitee

Can't make the meeting due to work commitments but reading Hutchies sig, I think a supporters trust is the way forward we need to work with the club not against it.

If a fans group could get over 2000 members, that would represent approx 1/6th of the average support would it not, so surely deserves 2 places of the 12 or so on FC voices.

Id also question why they need 9 (hope ive counted right) non representative persons on it. Not counted Rich as i know he represents out of town fans
