Ive said before on here that clubs and companies far too often take the easy route and pay people off. You can actually dismiss them on capability grounds for not meeting objectives/set criteria should you choose too but we never do/most never do.

FWIW i think paying Sharp and Agar off would be cash well spent should we choose to.

I think Agar has to be given the chance to get us out of this mini slump, if he succeeds fair dos, if he fails then he should pay the price.

Now is too early, 4 or 5 more games then lets see where we are.

Ffs i agree with you at last, we have to face it, we're not good enough, there's one or two players you've missed off that list, i've looked at the squad and tried to think, would anyone of these get in the Saints line up?the answers a big NO, we are definately in decline, i'm not sure even the great Arthur Bunting could do anything with this current bunch of players,and i'm usually really optimistic about things, but i'll be there Friday and i think this will be the toughest game of the last five

The great Arthur Bunting did it with a great squad - probably the best ever to be seen at FC.

He built it himself though, our last few coaches have tried to build a squad and have fallen short of what was really needed at times, although they have taken them to finals.

It's impossible to say whether he's good enough until he's had a bit of service and a proper run outside a decent centre. If he was playing outside of Gidley, he'd be scoring a hatful.

People, idiots mainly, seem to have this unrealistic expectation that wingers should single handedly win games and gain 20m with every hit up.

Calderwood has defended well and looked to get involved in attack whenever he can. Only a total retard could expect more of him given the problems in the side at the moment.

Even at his best he isn't good enough.

Calderwood has done pretty well so far despite the small of amount of service he's had.

Hall has great potential and he just needs to be used correctly and encouraged.

Maloney has not had the chance to prove himself either yet but had a good game yesterday by all accounts so we should wait before we judge him.

Thorman is a stopgap signing, we needed someone to play 7 and there was very little out there and we plumped for him. Has proved already he can do a job but I hope we replace him next season.

Horne is a valuable squad player, covers centre and the back row well and has not done much wrong this season and is scoring a few tries.

Lee I don't rate but will be costing us very little and has actually done quite well this season.

King has hardly played this season but regardless of how he goes I think it should be his last season with us.

For what? He has defended well all season. His cover defence has dragged us out of the mire a few times. When he gets the service he will score tries - no doubt about it.

The only thing he lacks is the physical presence to bust tackles, but then, that's not the sort of player he is.

You can't have world beaters in every position, there isn't a single team in SL that has. Look at Gardner at Saints. He's an average sort of player - does little wrong, but doesn't set the world alight. Yet he tops the try scoring charts (or gets somewhere near) every year. That's because he plays in a good team with dominant forwards and creative backs.

Well considering wingers are primarily offensive weapons. Mark Calderwood's super league record reads 185 games played, 108 tries scored. For someone who is not good enough that is a pretty decent effort!!!

Young players sign for top clubs all the time. Sometimes they work out, sometimes they don't. It's no big deal and wouldn't be worth a mention on here if not for our current problems.
