I used to be a bit cynical about the twitterati but I now partake in an observational capacity.

We could put a it of daylight between us and the chasing pack too.
Leeds have got Wigan. Rovers have Wire and Salford go to Toulouse. Big round in the context of the season

| I’m fully expecting us to beat Cas.
For our stat loving fans on here. one stat we excel in is getting thrashed.
Not even bottom 2 clubs get a beating like we do.

That’s not a stat, just a declaration of your glee as we struggle, I’d give you and talentless your red cards.

I’ve got a stat, sort of, Hull FC 48-12 Toulouse. I’d class that as a thrashing. Think we had a pretty good first team out that day. Swings and roundabouts.

| I have a feeling we’ve targeted this game, over the Wigan one, and expect the win. Especially as Cas lost a couple more players yesterday.
Hopefully we’ll come out to win it, not to lose it. No doubt Radford will be up to complete the double over us.
A bad defeat will put some pressure on Hodgson as well.

with the players we have back for this game including a full strength front row dont understand why some on here think Cas will beat us.
We should also have a much better defensive three quarter line if Griffin is dropped as expected.
Although he should be i dont think Hodgson is now under any pressure about losing his job as the club have obviously decided on a new direction in terms of recruitment adding youth and hopefully pace into the team.
I just hope we find a like for like second row to replace Mau as its evident now how his defence and aggression in possession is sadly missed.

I’ve just checked and the team that day was,
Hull FC: Jake Connor, Jamie Shaul, Connor Wynne, Carlos Tuimavave, Darnell McIntosh, Jordan Johnstone, Joe Lovodua, Ligi Sao, Danny Houghton, Kane Evans, Manu Ma’u, Jordan Lane, Brad Fash.
Interchange: Chris Satae, Jack Brown, Scott Taylor, Denive Balmforth
Reynolds and Gale suspended, Swift and Griffin injured. Balmforth came on at hooker and scored after 2 minutes. Lovodua crossed for the 9th try but passed back for Evans to touch down.

When he’s fit which, unfortunately, isn’t too often. I make out he’s missed 7 from 18 SL games.

Hope the playing group doesn't think this. We're in a bad run of form and will have to be on it.
It's a game we're capable of winning, but it's no gimmie

Well we 'll see if Satae and Taylor are OK.
Sao, Evans, Ma'u, Wynne and Johnstone back gives us more options but who knows if the disciplinary committee come up with any surprises tomorrow.

Carlos Tuimavave has a very similar injury prone time to Mau but no one seems to make any comment about that.
Still maintain Mau will be a big loss

I wasn't there but then I've been at games and not seen incidents that have later led to suspensions.

Armavinit in peace
It wasn’t a negative post to you, merely pointing out that his time here has been limited. Very good player when he’s on. Took a long time to get to his best which probably has been this season but has missed missed more than a third of it. I think it’s for the best he’s departing, the warmer climate in southern France will be of immense benefit to his conditioning. Not sure about Carlos’ stats, appearances wise been poor this year, not sure about the other seasons. In some ways, I understand what Talent,s trying to say about him, great defence and bringing the ball back but limited in attack. I’d like to see his stats regards tackle busts, meters gained and assists.

| Personally unless we have jake back can't see anything but a cas win even with a few back. Mcshane is far superior to Houghton even Richardson who I don't rate is better than gale or lovodua in the halfs . Radford will have his troops fired up not sure Hodgson has got in in him to do the same

| Salford beating Catalans today leaves them only 2 points behind us with a much better points difference thanks to our hammering at Wigan.
Massive game for us on Friday.

Don’t disagree, feel it will be a very difficult game and one we will fail to get anything from. In terms of creativity in the halves we have very little and our line speed & ptb is so slow. We need more from 6,7 & 9 than we have been getting. Radford will certainly have Cas up for it where as I just don’t see Hodgson doing likewise with us.
I know we can up against a very good Wigan performance with a very depleted squad but even so we never looked like getting anywhere near their line even if we’d played all weekend. We look gone mentally yet again when other teams seem to galvanise we just crumble.
I’ll take any win ugly or otherwise but just can’t see it.

| With Sao and Evans back and hopefully Satae fit at least we l have some go forward to work with.
Wynne comes back In at centre, I'd also play Mitch at centre alongside Simms on the wing.
Hopefully Mau's fit too as we need his defence and work rate. If that's the case Griffin drops out the squad as accountability for poor form.
Think the rest of the team picks itself considering the Injurys, the only other debate is who are the remaining props.
Fash and Brown at loose forward, and I'd be tempted to keep Laidlaw on the bench rather than Taylor as I think Laidlaw works alot harder and is alot fitter in attack and defence

For me there is a question mark over a few players in Houghton, Taylor and Griffin. Houghton just looks done and 80mins week in week out has just finished him off as he just can’t recover and that showed with a shorter turn around against Wigan. Griffin just looks to have no confidence since his injury and looks very slow. Taylor is another where I think his injuries and carrying us previous seasons have just taken a toll on him which is now showing. The other that had a question mark is Gale who has just not been the player we needed in terms of a half or leader.
It’s just all very deja vue again and can honestly see us throwing away a play off place yet again, not that I think we will go further than the first round.
We just seem further away than ever and that’s with one of the poorest SL we’ve had.
