Look, Hull KR are repeat offenders on this front. Minimal action taken and the RFL has no interest in calling them to account. Quite telling that even after the flares and bottle throwing on Friday Rovers made a Twitter post about its pride in every fan and have now had to put out a token condemnation. Both sides (club and fans who know perpetrators) should act appropriately and get these fools prosecuted. But there's a repeated pattern here. Rovers will only stop this when they recognise it and root it out.

At the first Hull derby in the Super League play-offs, no alcohol will be allowed in the KC Stadium's spectator seating for what promises to be a highly charged Saturday evening fixture as Hull FC aim to avoid a repeat of the crowd misbehaviour that marred last weekend's home defeat by Leeds.
Hull have averted the threat of punishment from the Rugby Football League by signalling their intention to ban for life one supporter who ran on to the pitch and attempted to tackle the Leeds wing Scott Donald during the game, and are also investigating a bottle-throwing incident during their previous home fixture, against the Crusaders.
"The investigation is not yet complete," said Hull's chief executive, James Rule. "However, I believe that we need to take proactive action to ensure that the good name of this club is not tarnished by the action of one or two individuals. It is not just about reputation – incidents such as this run the risk of sanction from the RFL."

The first reaction from the Dobbins hierarchy on Friday was to tweet their thanks to all their supporters, and that they thought the world of each and everyone of them.
I assume that included the bottle throwers. Tells you all you need to know.
They just keep blaming everyone else though, so it’s fine. |

That's not true. I don't know what action is being taken against them as the investigation is ongoing but I would hope and expect that they are prosecuted by the police, made examples of by the club and banned from all sporting arena. Certainly there is a very clear photo doing the rounds on social media of the Rovers fan wielding a lit flare which is helpful. You seem unwilling to acknowledge the repeat pattern here. Until this is recognised and dealt with, nothing will change. |

I think you represent the vast majority of fans of both clubs. Its always the lunatic minority who bring the clubs and the game into disrepute. I watched a video earlier today of a non-league football match with less than 400 people there yet some idiot decided it would be ok to throw a flare onto the pitch. Hopefully he was easily identifiable and thrown out of the ground. |
