Absolutely right. There have been plenty of instances of fans calling for Horne to be left out because a) he's too old b) he's always injured c) he contributes nothing. On his day he's a good, reliable player but he's not a world beater and he's definitely not the future.

Nobody is claiming he's the future, just our best option in the present. Which is slightly depressing. Horne showed more in his short time on the pitch last night than Miller had in the whole of his stint. He even has a better short kicking game.

How do we ever hope to see a decent scrum half in a settled partnership if we drop players after a couple of games? Forwards let him down badly last night.

Rest Carvell, drop Yeaman and move Whiting out of centre. Horne's not the answer and just like Yeaman needs putting out to pasture. Nobody thinks for one minute that Miller & Rankin will be consistent, but they're our best option.

The simple facts are that unless we strike gold and a 'Luke Walsh' becomes available we're pretty much stuck with what we've got. Horne's dog turd, he's been involved in this mediocrity a lot longer than Miller has, yet still gets new deals!

Horne can't kick, Miller & Rankin are both his superior in that regard. Yes he's better defensively, but I don't want halves bought for defence. We've been mediocre for years with Horne at halfback, yet he's the default setting. Baffling.
