In no order: Shaul, Ellis and Carvell/Paea. Shaul had a really good all round game. Ellis lifted the team and led by example whilst Carvell and Paea were outstanding and I can't choose between the pair.
Special mentions: Houghton, Bowden, Rankin and Miller. Houghton was at his best last night and that try was a beautiful team effort. Bowden purely for that hit on Crabtree. Finally Rankin and Miller, passed the ball and kicked well at times which was lovely to see. We have the makings of a good half back pair there I think.

If Huddersfield's tactic was to target Shaul then that's poor coaching by Anderson, not only is he safe as houses under a high ball but he's one of the best broken field runners around. You would want to keep the ball away from him as much as possible. If they were basing it on last seasons game then that even more odd. From what I remember Shaul was one of our better players that night.

From what Radford said post match it sounds like it was. He said that Shaul didn't do himself justice in the game against them last time out and that that was probably reflected in their opinion. Seems like they didn't do any more research than that and paid for it. |
