2012 against Huddersfield

we lost both games on each occasion

however in those instances we were away in the league and at home in the cup

this time its at home for both games but it is an odd thing that keeps happening

A tough match but very winnable.

Wondering if we'll try and play it on the friday night seeing as we play Hudds on the thursday after.

It's only 2 and a half weeks away - let's hope we have a few players back again by then.

I may be wrong but think it happened with Halifax and us early 2000's

Also last year played Wigan in the final and then in the league the week after.

Think it will be the Friday, Hull city at home on the Saturday and we will play Hudds on the Thursday after, so we won't want a Sunday game.

if its a Friday night match,i hope we invade the pitch if we win.

Pleased with the home draw. Get through and there is a fair chance of a Championship side in the next round.

It's a chance of revenge after they knocked us out in 2009 - coincidentally also the year after a Cup final defeat.

hudds v saints! with luke walsh out for 6 weeks, hudds have to be the favourites!
wakey v leeds-leeds to creep past a spirited wakefield team
kr v warrington-season breaker for kr, warrington have a love affair with wembley and will be busting a gut to get back, would love to see rovers beat them if im being totally honest!

us v salford-hopefully last seasons failure at wembley will be a spur for us to start our quest for a trip back there

think our game will be sunday, no tv as city will want no game the night before on the pitch, also if bbc pick hudds v saints that game will be sunday too so both teams will have the same turn around

so what if city don't want game night before,its not there ground.we don't want to be playing sunday with Huddersfield on the following Thursday.

actually they can request us not to play, i doubt Pearson will refuse as not many salford fans will travel friday night! there is also a premiership rule that no other sport can be played on the pitch 24 hours leading upto a league game

the bbc game is on a sunday, they get 1st pick, they will more than likely choose hudds v saints!

same turn around for both fc and hudds!

makes no difference what rules the premiership have. its not a football stadium.just tough on city.
