Anyway, it's Agars fault that I'm having to work as oppossed to visiting the kc. May as well take a leaf from the hull conforming army and relentlessly blame agar for everything wrong. I may even blame him after he has left Wakefield... Because he's a bad bad man

Errr he did,so get your facts right before you come on here....2008 we was 2nd bottom with 17pts and 2009 with 20 pts....2010 6th out in 1st rd of play off and 2011 8th and out in 1st rd of play-offs....along with uninspiring rugby and him showing no emotioin at all,he was a bleeding disaster and took us backwards.

| So in his last two seasons he got hull to the playoffs back to back. He's obviously a very poor coach then.
By all accounts so far we have seen some good attacking structure and well worked trys although it's early yet. Coaches as players can improve and learn from past events. Most of us will back him to see what he offers.
If you want 5 drives and a kick see John kear.. We had it long enough.
I don't get all this animosity towards agar. I'm sure he did the best he could and he has plenty of developing to do as a coach yet.
Anyway shame I can't make the game as kc is one of my favourite away grounds. But I'll be listening. Enjoy the game people.

Unfortunately, getting into 'back to back' playoffs isn't good enough. Not by a long shot.

It is [ia bit[/i about that. The win ratio against the top 6 clubs of 1:6 and the failure to win against any SL club in the cup apart from, er, Wakefield, did incite a bit of annoyance.
He was uninspiring, unwilling to take responsibility for the team's performances ("We're not far off"icon_wink.gif and our attacking play varied from inconsistent to shambolic. It is absolutely typical of him to say in Yorkshire Post that he'd finally assembled the best squad at the club in 6 years and would have liked the chance to have coached them. The only redeeming characteristics he had were dignity and integrity, but I think his sideswipes, involvement in the Luke Briscoe transfer and the fact his conditioning team were sanctioning use of a controlled stimulant pretty much destroys the perception of those too.

If I could be bothered I'd bookmark this and bring it up when the Wakefield fans have inevitably had enough of Agar.
His record at Hull was atrocious. We finished in the bottom half of the table three times in four years, with no play off wins, an awful Cup record (post 2008 semi), and a terrible win ratio over the top four (including 0 from 10 against Leeds).

What a load of tripe. I'm sorry but are you trying to tell me that Pearson clearly saw no preperation was being done at all running up to Leeds game... And did nothing but stand by and say crack on?
Either that does not ring true , or Pearson showed weak ownership quality by not taking action.
No doubt agar will have been aggrieved as maybe he thought he would get a shot with more control from the new board. There may be truth he was aggrieved but I doubt he just didn't prepare them.
Pearson may well have played a blinder. Easier to find a scapegoat in Agar for the loss than perhaps admitting that Leeds are a stronger team.

Most fans, myself included, were just glad to see the back of him and didn't care beyond that. Obviously if he'd been successful at Hull then everyone would have felt differently, but I doubt anyone actually cared enough about the guy to have any animosity towards him until he started his snipes at the club and fans in the press, his likely part in the luke briscoe affair and the comments from pearson about the attitude at the club in 2011.
We also beat bratfud in the cup with him in charge although I'm unsure if he had been officially appointed at the time

I cannot really get my head around why some fans are so fixated with a kid who hadn't featured in the first team. If he'd been good enough last year, he would have had an opportunity.
That he has now gone to Leeds and hasn't featured even on their bench suggests he was either not ready or not good enough. Either way, why the big deal?

Look mate, lets not get our knickers in a twist over Agar.I admire your stance in being the represententive of his defence. The facts are you did not have to endure watching rugby under Agar for three and a half years.I admit having Uncle Kath in charge didn`t help our cause either.Who knows, maybe with Wakey he will be a completely different coach. If he isnt,I can guarentee your supporters will be collecting the pitchforks and lighting the torches after a couple of seasons.
And yes,Leeds are a stronger team, but putting up a performance now and then would help.

I think people are more bothered about the fact it happened (was allowed to happen) than who the player actually is

Hull will be trying to break the top 4 these next few years but won't be the only team. Just seems alot of hull fans want instant success and agar may have been a victim of this expectation. Despite doing a decent job in his last 2 years.

No knicker twists ha. Well I'll give him a chance at wakey. I'm sure I'll have a more valid opinion of Agars tactical nouse at the end of this season. If he was as bad as some state I'll still give that chance and hope he has improved himself.
Gutted I can't make the game. As for the topic...
I don't see why the pantomime booing should be reigned in. It adds to the atmosphere . So long as it doesn't turn abusive and is light hearted good old boo the villain I see no problem with that.

| I'm half expecting a 'Grassy Knoll' moment. The guy has magnetism - it's just a shame it was always pulling South.
I know I'll lose my voice today, I just don't know whether It'll be through shouting at Cockend, Shergar or Fox.

Just to remind you of the four years prior to the Agar era, 2004 we finished 3rd (you might remember the play off game ), 2005 we were 5th but won the Cup, 2006 we finished 2nd and reached the Grand Final and in 2007 we finished 4th and got to the second week of the play offs despite losing Cooke and Swain midseason.
The idea that Agar "consolidated" us as a playoff team is just crap. We didn't even make the playoff in his first two seasons and in the next two were embarassed in them.
