Can't agree with any of that at all. Thought for our first game against a very strong side (with few changes from last seasons league toppers) we did more than enough to show signs of much improvement. Yes mistakes were made but that is to be expected with the amount of changes made throughout the closed season. We never capitulated which we would have done previously but dug in got the game back, unlucky not to have won.

The game last night was typical of a game against London who always come and slow the play down at every opportunity. We were in full control up until the red card.

We are also still rotating 3 props which went down to 2 during last nights game with Lynch eventually playing 70mins.

We are a much more organised team in attack and defence and seem to actually have some tactics and plans, hell we even look like we know what we are doing inside the oppositions 20 which is unbelieveable after the last few years.

All Gentle needs with the players is time to hone the things he has put into place. Once they have got the timing and understanding upto speed etc I think we will be a difficult side to contend with. Miracles aint going to happen overnight but as long we improve each week thats good enough for me.

Still work to do but nothing other than positives for me, onwards and upwards.

I agree the game lasts 80 minutes not 20 mins or 1 half or 5 min spells a good side would have beat us and sending offs and sin bins happen in most games and we have to deal with that,saying that London will put a few points on teams throughout the season thats for sure
Most people still are waiting for improved performances before shelling out 20 odd quid and that dross last night on sky will not have them rushing back,mind you the inside ball happened a bit quicker but still boring and clueless

Agree 100% with this. Defence is looking good, there are options going forward. Once it starts clicking, as you say, we should be much better, but I'm unsure how far this will take us this year.

No need to switch the Derby now IMO, Rovers first home game of the season with 7610 there and Saints must have brought 400 to 500. So there would be more than enough room for the Derby there. Hull look defensively good and would have cruised to a victory had it not been for the sending off, 5th or 6th is our aim at the moment any higher and it will have been a very positive season.

After 2 games and a week off in between .What was you expecting .A week off 8 or 9 games into the season
to let players get over knock is ok but after 2 games I would wait till after 6 or 7 game to make statements to were a team could finish

Wait until we have a game in better weather before judging. No side is going to start throwing out 'Hollywood' passes in freezing conditions, keeping the ball and completing sets becomes more of a priority.

also to add that in both games so far we have been in a leading position towards the end of the game, so haven't had to resort to risky attacking moves in a last gasp attempt to win.

I agree that last nights game will hardly get the crowds flocking back, but it was a good 2 points that we would have probably have lost over the last few seasons.
