| Edwards? No ta. What's his coaching record like in THIS sport? Has he even got one?
I'd happily take an assistant from the NRL who has been there a few years under a decent coach. Someone that is up to date with the latest techniques in coaching and latest strategies, tactics, etc. We are just years behind in this over here. Why someone would want a coach from RU over here (him being a RL legend over a decade ago means absolutely nothing in regards to his coaching ability) I haven't a clue. He'd be well out of his depth.

He always has in the past, but it will be interesting to see if he still allies himself with Agar now that there is a new boss in place. If I was in Rule's shoes and Pearson starts to question Agar's position, I'd be trying my hardest to distance myself from him and his appointment.

| As for Noble, I'd be happy. He'd be a step in the right direction for sure. In his 5 years at Bradford he's taken them to 5 consecutive Grand Finals (winning three), won every WCC he's been involved in and gotten to the CCF twice (winning one). Then, after taking over a Wigan side languishing at the bottom of the league halfway through the season, managed to take them to 4 points off the play-offs in that half a season, then took them to one game off the GF for the remaining three seasons and also to two CC semi finals (all under a very unsteady board room at Wigan), and then took a side that finished bottom when he took over, nearly went into administration, moved 200+ miles up the road 6 weeks before the season started and then built a team that got them to the play-offs.
So I'd say Noble's coaching record is one of the best in the SL, if not THE best. Only Tony Smith could come close.

Peter Sharp that led us to 14 wins in his first 15 games, got us to a Grand Final in 2006 and 4th in 2007 despite losing our playmaker through no fault of his own?

That's the one. If he'd been as good at spotting players as he appeared to be at working with them he might still be here, his recruitment was monumentally poor.

Not so sure on that one. I still struggle to believe that we couldn't find someone of Todd Byrne's calibre in this country and a likely cheaper wage. I also suspect Cusack wasn't on peanuts, as he supposedly took a pay cut for his final year but was still willing to play on to top up his retirement fund. Dykes will probably have been one of our highest earners too, and pro rata one of the highest paid SL players of all time.

If Sharp hadn't been so poor at recruitment and hadn't been ruined by our board's inadequacies to get players to actually SIGN a piece of paper then he'd have been a great coach. He did get us to a GF after all.

Some very poor choices, it has to be said and it was probably his undoing.
He did sign Tickle, Manu and Berrigan, though, and it was Sharp who was behind the "signing" of Michael Crocker.
Given what had happened in 2006 and 2007 he deserved a full shot at 2008.

Fully agree and Sharp was sacked for a DAMN siight less than what Agar has served up.

| Sharpy's record will always stand head and shoulders above the current incumbent coach. Can you imagine if we won 12 straight Super league games now? The club website would be in overdrive with flowery adjectives. Then again, it already is and we're below halfway in the table with two games to go....

| Nope, not in the slightest. I preferred finishing 4th and nearly getting to the Grand Final emilinator having lost our main play-maker a few games into the season The fact that Agar can even think that the 'battle for 8th is very exciting' sums the bloke up for me. As soon as he's gone I can enjoy supporting my club again.

No chance.
Agar is gone, gone, gone.
With the continued slide in the attendances, the only way to halt that is a new coach to give the fans cause for optimism for next season. That's the only thing that will bring them back. AP will be perfectly well aware of that fact which is why Agar will be gone as soon as our season ends.

Yes, he did bring a few good ones in too. As you say though, some very poor choices, not just in terms of quality but also questionable as to whether they suited our needs (I'm thinking Cusack and the utility obsession here).
I'm undecided on him being given longer. Whilst he did have a certain amount of credit built up, we'd got to a stage where he continually pointed out our failings but did nothing to fix any of them (familiar story?), and I didn't see that changing either. If we'd replaced him more wisely I doubt we'd be debating the timing of his departure.

| I thought Sharp was Ok. Seems a lot like Royce Simmons in his manner and attitude but because he wasn't winning people chose to use that dry laconic style against him. Whatever , he shouldn't have been sacked when he was because it wasn't planned and instead of finding a proper replacement we just put Agar in who must have been at least as responsible as Sharp for what was going wrong. We should have waited , looked around , cleared the lot out and replaced at the end of that year.

Yes - hopefully the independent company that are administering it will be presenting the feedback to AP without any in-house censorship.
