Having seen the accounts for the SMC, it occurs to me that the SMC will be the beneficiaries (Hudgell talks about sponsorship [uat[/u City rather than [uof [/uCity) but Hudgell wants it announced in terms of the football club angle only, unsurprisingly when you consider it's putting money into a company that upkeeps a stadium when he's been promising improvements at their gaff since March 2008 and has delivered nothing of consequence.

As I sit in the East stand I won`t be able to see it, (the name that is) don`t give a monkeys anyway.

The article reads to me as if it's a sponsorship deal with the Tigers rather than the SMC. Might find that the East Stand only has it's new name during City's games.

well done hudge you av just ed off several thousand potential customers ,but if you can afford it why not ,the money would have been better spent on the sh~t hole you call a ground and improving your chances of not getting elbowed next time the licences are been looked at ,your ground after wakys is the worst in the SL ,if they go this time cas get a new stadium whos going next ,leighs ground is far better than yours

Hudgell was a dishonest steaming pile of jobbies before this deal and will remain one after it so it makes little difference to me. The only ones who need to worry are the dobbins fans where their chairman has persistently told lies about dates of ground improvements at their own hole and yet is sinking money into the stadium of the team he obsessively hates.

I don't think people realise how big his involvement with Hull city is.

I think weve got bigger things to worry about than having him on the name of the stand.

If i was a Rovers fan id be slightly miffed though and its almost like he's trying to get his name on it to make it more homely before he moves them there within the next three years due to costs and problems at New Craven Park.
