Maybe, hopefully he will see out his contract of another 2 years after this one, then sign another deal at Hull or have a go in the NRL.

This signing may well help Lyne not hinder him. Nothing wrong with focused attention.

IMO Lyne needs to bulk up. He has the pace but its far too easy for him to be bundled into touch due to his slight build.

He's never going to be big enough for SL IMHO.

I think your right , the modern game does favour the bigger players.

indeed, it's why you can't really compare players from much more that 15 years ago, a totally different game requiring different physical attributes, the days of being able to carry a winger simply because they are quick are gone.

Was having this same discussion with my wife yesterday and we came to the same conclusion. Think he's going to be one of those that just doesn't make it.

Think Lyne will end up like a Calderwood frame, as long as he gets the ball in space he is gone. But as has been said, he isn't seeming to bulk up. Has he got another year left on his contract?

I'd label him as a sprinter who can play a bit of rugby, as tommy has said, a lot like Claderwood, but I don't think he'll even get as "bulky" up top as Calderwood.

I thought the same about craig hall when he played for us. he seemed too light weight and could get bowled over too easy at times. however I think Hall will come good eventually. Not so sure about Lynne but there's nothing wrong with a bit of competition!

in my experience you can't just decide to go from a frame like his to one like Yeaman, no matter what supplements you take or how hard you train.

It's easier for some people to bulk up. He's a teenager and will continue growing until his 20's.

Look at the Bradford team of the last decade or so...you can't tell me ALL of those lads were naturally big...or had the genetics to 'get' big. They trained hard and smashed tub after tub of protein shakes!

Not really a comparison, and as the article states, you are playing them pre-season so that will probably give them more cash than any transfer fee. AFAIK Cockayne was out of contract at Donny, and they never developed him, he had 1 year there after signing from Normy Knights. (I'm beginning to wish he had stayed there!)

I think the other posters were just pointing out that it was agreed in his contract that if a SL side moved for him , no fee would be payable.

There are plenty of wingers who aren't particularly big. Will Sharp, Riley, Broughton, Calders, Fox, Gardner - they aren't big blokes. Reece doesn't have to put too much bulk on to get as big as these guys, he's not that far off and he's still a teenager.

I understand the clause in his contract, i just agree with the rovers fan that in my opinion a fee should be paid, else why should lower league teams bother with players that are good enough to play higher standard. However, as said, the pre season friendly will generate York money through gate receipts. So alls well that ends well

bigger already! put about half a stone on since last year! but muscle not bulk so not noticed as much! plus he pretty tall, still has lowest body fat reading in team! will be a real physical specimen when hes finished. Already is pretty strong to. Never been thrown around when playing 1st team. doesnt get turned on his back often and usually gets fast play of the balls. Those off tonight can watch him and some of the other decent prospects in the 20s as their playing before 1st team
