| In fact looking further into the fixture list, a win against Leeds would really put us in a strong position. Alot of our competitors play each other in the next few weeks. Notably Huddersfield having to play Wigan twice and then Warrington in consecutive weeks. Leeds who after playing us play Saints, Wakefield, Warrington and Bradford. And Rovers, who in the coming weeks play Warrington, Bradford, Saints, Crusaders and Saints again.
Our next 5 are Leeds, Wakefield, Quins, Catalans and Cas, then we play Saints at home followed by Salford. If we manged to win 6 out of 7 (which is possible) we would surely be in the driving seat for that 4th place.

| The key is injuries
If we manage to keep them low and orr we manage anyl ong term injuries well enough we should make the top four. The rest of the season could be resting on the resulting injuries from this weekend IMHO.

| It really will boil down to injuries once again i'm afraid as to where we finish.
Why oh why do we have so much bad luck with our half back pairings, we just can't seem to get a run together with the same two, let alone our first choice pairing.
Add to that our lack of depth in the backs especially wingers a fourth placed finish might just be a bridge too far.
Just make sure you keep everything crossed that Long's prognosis is a positive one and will be back out there very soon (please God).

we have terrible injury lists since we moved to the stadium, seems to be every year. i do agree that the teams that suffer the least tend to do well, just look at the start leeds have had, it just proves no matter how strong the team is, if you lose a number of key players at any one time your form suffers. we still dont have real strength in depth after our first chioce seventeen, 6th place finish and 1 play off win i think.

| I'd like to think that we have enough to reach the top 4. Wire and Wigan are going well at the moment, and Saints are bound to pull through. Leeds are starting to build some more now too, but don't look the team they were last season.
Time will tell, as the word of '10 is, CONSISTENCY!

| Yes I think we can, but with Long and Horne getting injuries I think we will struggle, as long as we dont suffer massive injuries I think we will finish 6th behind Wigan, Warrington, Leeds, Saints and Hudds. I will be happy with this return.

| First post - please allow time before crucifying my opinions.
I think we are doing incredibly well at the moment - Wigan and wire are now established teams - Wigan have now had stability for a year and Wire have taken 3 years to get to this level. Yes we have used experience players to fast track this situation but even those players have undertaken big life changing moves. I think a lot on here expect them as a team to gel instantaneously and get very despondent when we lose to "lesser" teams - but look what they can do when they get it right. By the end of the season not only do I hope for top 4 but also Old trafford is not beyond this improving outfit

As should Crusaders and Salford away
Too many twists and turns from ALL teams to come yet, with loads of tough games that are close calls. I'd be happy with top 6 and overjoyed with top 4.

| Top 6 for me. Back up halves is a must, particularly no 7. Stating the obvious I know but we must recruit from lower league for a no 7 to back up Long. We have no one except Berrigan to replace Long and that leaves us short of a no 9 back up. There must be some player down there worth taking a chance on.
Switching Horne to no 7 is an option and he seemed to work well with Turner, but again that is a stop gap.

| I really like Hudds now since they have Brough on board I think they have a lot of players that can interchage positions which will help them if/when they get any injuries. I rate them above Warrington for this reason. Wire are doing well now and are at the peak of their powers, time will tell whether any key injuries or drop in form will keep them from a top 2 position...

Very good post Dalek, although some on here will refer to you as Dalek Caan for being a bit mad
I agree we are 10 games in with a lot of new players fitting in. Other players starting to find their feet and the team as a whole still gelling together. Lets see what the 2nd third of the season brings.
