He's said its warts and all childish silly bad etc etc etc.But he is in the busines of selling a book, he starts with us in November if he does it after that then we will all get on his back, what is not reported is the end of the book where he reflects on how stupid he has been! andalso the fact that the RL had sight of a draft of the tome weeks ago!

The fact is he is a character hopefully, as he says i the book, a reformed one, but as the Rugby League press said this weekend still the best scrum half in the Super League! Oh and he has signed for us!!!

They had a copy of the manuscript before it was printed. Given that Long had expressly been saying how controversial it would be it's hardly unreasonable to assume that they would have read it.

Which is my point (despite Wilfs dummy spit), I am anrgy that a player we have signed has done something that could lead to action being taken by the RFL that means he is unavailable to play for us, even one friendly game.

He sat as a guest on a radio show with the president of the RL next to him and stated the RL had asked him for an advanced copy which had been sent several weeks ago. The RFL president did not counter this. You doubt away but in the meantime I'll make a judgement based on fact and not your anti-Hull summisations.

My concern IS HULL being denied his services if there is any comeback

Agree, i'm bothered what he does in the name of Hull FC, i've read loads of autobiographies,ie: golfers, cricketers, footballers, referees, jockeys and so on, they all have some spicy stories to tell, its what we buy them !!!! and what sells them!!

My hope is it fades away, the last thing we need now is sort of long winded RFL inquiry and action that effects FC

I havent seen a comment yet about the behaviour itself being a problem, people are concerned that it may impinge on him making a good start with Hull (as in, he [imay[/i get some sanctions against him).

If I was to comment I'd say that an international player drinking Baileys from a sports bottle on a morning flight isn't the kind of indication of professionalism I was hoping for, but it was some time ago, so he'll get the benefit of the doubt.

Not for the betting scam but to read his comments on leaving the International team ont he 2006 tour after playing a blinder against the Aussies. The thing is most of the spiciest autobiographies are published after the players career is finished and as such the authorities can have very little bearing on the individual concerned. Players currently playing will seldom reveal anything of a juicy nature or else end up in a Jaap Stam type situation.

As for the RFL, they've not exactly come down hard on recent misdemeanors by several players, and have'nt we also seen a referee fined for being Drunk and Disorderly??
