I thoroughly Enjoyed the gig last night.Good to hear them go through their back catalogue.Bono only had his halo on for 5 mins as well so I could live with that.
Thought the Hours were great,and although not an Elbow fan thought they were ok too .

It was a great experience thought Desmond Tutu's intro for One was very good. Especially as I was there with one of the people who started Jubilee 2000 off in the first place.

I absolutely loved it and I can put up with Bono doing 'Big Issue' for 5 mins as he wouldn't be the guy he is without his causes.

Got home at 2am though in mini bus of beer

How was it on radio and anyone know how to do a download ?

Went to see The Phantom Band at the Vine in Sowerby Bridge instead. U2 were past their best when I saw them at Wembley in 86.

They were awesome at Roundhay 28-08-1997.

I agree, they have been gash since, a shadow of them former selves.

they were pretty good at earls court in 2000 elevation tour because it was indoors and was stripped down without any giant stage props. good choice of songs too including some off the first album

There biggest problem has been the quality of the recent albums, you can't doubt their ability to put on a show, and musically they are incredibly talented, but they have seriously lost their mojo.

Im not negative on everything, just the things that aren't as god as they have been in the past, for example FC and U2.

I don't have any opinion of myself, I leave that to others, some like, some don't, I don't care either way.

It was a shame the 2 gigs clashed last night, saw Oasis at the Ice Arena a few years back and they were superb. Always felt that the smaller indoor venues suit Oasis more than the larger outdoor gigs.

Oasis' music is very personal, which does lend itself to smaller venues as you say, U2 like to put on a show (and do it incredibly well).

The biggest loss to live music ever was Queen, I feel sorry for a whole generation that never saw them live.

I've been to V festival, T in the Park, Glastonbury and not seen more than 4 or 5 band I'd like to see a full set from. Went to Liverpool to see Kings of Leon and they were pretty awesome.

Also have to say, saw Madonna and Michael Jackson live, both amazing shows.

Best gig ever was Alanis Morisette at Hull Truck long before she "made it" (where has she gone, by the way)

No. TBH that was the first time I've stopped in Sowerby Bridge. The Vine is decent little venue, similar to the Pack Horse in Headingley. When I was playing in our band we were playing similar sized venues, so very surprised to see one of this years hottest tips playing there. I gaurantee TPB wll fairly high up the bill on the John Peel stage at Glasto next year.
