The standard is so poor that Lockyer would look ordinary in reserve garde at the moment. If Craig scored six tries, made three and kicked nine goals, but missed a tackle.........my guess is you'd harp on about the missed tackle.

Not at all the kid has got ability but that doesn't make up for his inconsistencies I would love for him to find a position and make it his own but after a few seasons of trying he still seems nowhere near. You could say that about a few of them on the FC payroll but thats for another thread.

| Has potential, certainly, has shown in patches how good he could be.Not consistent enough for me and it doesnt matter what position you play him in I still dont believe he can make it at the top level.
Would be a very good NL1 player but too inconsistent for SL IMO.Mind you he isnt the only one at the club that the same could be said of.Lets face it we need a clear out and quick and Hall isnt the only one.The only reason the team from over the river would be interested in him is that they think they would be getting another one over us,if he has agreed terms with them then I think it would be our turn to laugh at them for once as they would be getting a average player at best...

Thats what happens when you play players out of position too often. Ask Justin
Nobody knows whether his so called 'defensive frailties' and 'positional awareness' has imporved from last season because he hasn't had the chance to prove it in his natural position.
Instead he has a couple of nightmares in an unfamiliar position and is despatched to the reserves. If Agar prefers Horne and Whiting at centre and Boughton on the wing and now it seems Jordan Turner then let Craig go to another club. The British game is short of quality in the middle backs and its bordering on criminal as to why this kid hasn't had the chance to play in what is clearly his best position this season.

I agree with him.
Hall is the type of player that would be best starting on the Wing and possibly maturing into the Centre position later on. I'm sure im right in thinking that this is the route Matt King took.
His try scoring record in the first team alone tells anyone with half a brain that this kid has something special to offer. A good coach would work with a player and aim to get the best out of him.
As others have mentioned the biggest kick in the teeth is that fact that we are short in squad members yet we loan him out and take a part time player from Leeds then dare to comment on his confidence in the media. Even with his negative points he was nowhere near the worst performing player in the first team.
Seems to me that his face doesn't fit and it's worrying how talent like this can get treated so wrong given our current attacking form.

Good post with too many home truths. Craig Hall has enough class to warrant a place in the current squad Imo.
Agar should be coaching his 'deficiencies' out of him not loaning him to another inferior club.

Hall's confidence was at a very low ebb and we had Broughton in the squad after the injuries to Byrne and Briscoe. At the point he went on loan we had Tony, Raynor and Whiting coming back, Calderwood (our best player) and Yeaman fit and Broughton as cover. Better to let him play in the reserves or send him on loan for more first team exposure? I'd go with the latter and still think this was the right decision. Don't know how he's going at Widnes, goal-kicking apart, but if, as Gekko claims, he would be a first choice starting 3/4 in all SL teams apart from Leeds and Saints, he should be ripping it up at NL1 level (and I hope he is).

| Quote ="Mrs Barista"Garbage. Hall has played 42 SL games for Hull. He's had some nightmares this season, and last year also for that matter. That's hardly "dropping him at the first opportunity".
In terms of the other underperforming players, I take it you are referring to Thorman. We have no other scrum halves in the squad. We've tried Berro there but he is playing with injections and Agar prefers to rotate him from the bench. The other alternative is to move Horne to 7 and play Washbrook at 6, but he's out for weeks with injury. From a club that has given one game in total to Watts, Spaven and Esders this year your criticism of our unwillingness to field Hall is a tad hypocritical.
'" i think that's the whole point, Thorman plays crap week in, week out and isnt a scum half. IMO, Danny Houghton would make a good S/H and i don't know what we've got to lose by trying him there. With regard to Craig Hall, with a top coach i think he'll be a top player. Unfortunately, he hasn't had the benefit of that. I can't understand Agar with Hall, when we needed a F/B, he was the first player Agar turned to even though there were more obvious candidates, it didn't work out and he's shipped him out.

I think too much has been made of Halls confidence. From what im told there's nothing wrong with his confidence at Widnes so either something at Hull was knocking his confidence or its an excuse.
It doesn't matter what the situation is or was with Broughton the simple fact is Broughton is part-time and on loan and in the first team squad and Hall is still on loan and that to me isn't right.
I worry that his face doesn't fit. In the time i've supported Hull FC there has been two players we've released that still to this day annoys me thinking about them, Tevita Vaikona and Briscoe. I hope Hall doesn't add to that.
