| TBF I think it shows not only ambition but is also realistic. I am sure if they did ever feel the need to increase capacity they would have that designed into the existing plans so it is not a major expence or problem for the future. Have to say I do enjoy my trip to Wakey even though Belle Vue aint one of the best but it is certianly not one of the worst.
Good luck to Wakey I hope it comes off for them.

I have no gripe against Wakey mate, just vastman!!!
And how does one go about having a lovely evening when you live in Mansfield????
My point on the VT was wether this is what the RL had in mind, as others have said, if there is the possibility to extend (and the club can afford to) then it's probably a good move.
One thing that would concern me is who owns the ground etc. We get various idiots questioning our tenure at the KC but we know the Council would never evict us (or be able to), it readsto me like yours is a private equity ground, I may well be wrong.

12k new stadium is a far cry away from the 11k belle vue site and very much within an honest guesstimate of what we will need. thankfully most hull fc / rugby fans in general can see this as a positive sensible project.

Yup, that's how I see it also.
It will likely be able to be extended if required in the future as well.
Good news for Wakey, and a welcome poke in the eye for those sad souls who have spent the past few months gloating over the collapse of the last project and predicting their exit from SL as a result. ![Smile icon_smile.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_smile.gif)

| Great news, it will be a good atmos when full. And as people have said it CAN be extended.
It was only 2 years ago people were saying Wires new ground wasnt big enough due to their success and Johns and all that.
How times change eh? now it's half empty!

In fairness l have no idea who is funding it......but l cant see why a private equity group would fund a RL community stadium????
Would have though that Ted Richarson has Trinity at heart, he has said for years that we would not leave Belle Vue nor would he ever 'sell' unless it was the right move for the club, so it might be blind faith, but that is good enough for me, especially considering how much of his own money he has spent (some might say wasted!) over the years.

| another good point for us is that is is dead easy access from junction 30. simply turn left then i think newmarket lane is first left again. i assume its on the land down there somewhere. perhaps wakey fans can put me right on the exact location
another point is quite a few amateurs from stanley go to other clubs rather than wakey (dean sampson, chris chester, mark aston) siting a stadium here may help prevent such a drain (thacks is also from stanley)

OMG the ultimate two faced person or what. You don't like Trinity, you got nasty and you got caught out as virtually no one would back you up other than that Alice joker. Now yo're trying to weasel your way out of it by blaming me and pretending to be all reasonable as if it were an opinion and not a nasty little attack, you disgust me.
Thanks to the rest on here, some have minor reservations myself included. I personally won't believe it til I see the JCB's move in but it's at least back on track.

Not really for me, i think 12k although well above there current average could be too small to attract 'other events' to it especially with its closeness to Doncaster.
For me i dont see why they could not share a stadium with Cas, especially in theses economic times and both clubs wanting new stadiums. Or even Fetherstone.
Dont get me wrong, if built right it could be a lovely little ground and good for atmposphere, but i would have thought 15k would have been a better figure at least.

To be fair to Vastman, he does have a point!!!! Your post history suggests very strongly that you dislike Wakey and everything to do with the club!!! You use every possible chance to slag the club off, and l have never once seen you post anything that even comes close to a Pro wakefield comment!!!
Your history does not really back up your claim to just dislike Vastman rather than Trinity........indeed you have slagged the club off on many threads before Vasty has even posted!!!!

If it secured your future as a club would you share with Cas? I think that's more to the point. Well done on the ground though, hope it happens.

l can only answer that for me......but Yes!!
To be honest, and without wanting to turn this into a Wakey/Cas slanging match, quite lot of Trinity fans has suggested this in the past........it does seem however that it was/is the Cas club and their fans that have been against this.........they want to 'go it alone', good luck to them!

OK then let me put it another way.
If you were still at the Boulevard & H.K.R were still at Craven Park, would the two clubs & more importantly the fans, come to an agreement as to where the new stadium was to be sited?
Don’t get me wrong, I couldn’t care less where the new ground is, I travel from Filey, but if a joint ground was located in Glasshoughton or Stanley, then the supporters who ‘lost out’ would feel like it was only a matter of time before the dreaded merger would come their way.
Sharing with the round ball is one thing, but with your buddies in the east, and the threat of a merger………

| Good move by Wakey best of luck with it. It's extendable which is the key. If the initial size was determined by the amount of money available then it has to be better to build at 12k capacity and extend later than not build at all. Hope it all goes to plan.

Well seen as both clubs dont consult the fans, then id say that didnt matter anyways
But yes, if that was seen as they way forward then i wouldnt mind.
And im sure that they would have sited it in a fairly central place
although i wouldnt mind if it was in the east of hull , nice and handy for me then ![Laughing icon_lol.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_lol.gif)

Ok we'll build a massive stadium, half fill it (how will our attendances double in a year?), suffer from high overheads, expences etc

Yep, spot on - come off at M62 J30, turn left and you are there. Seven pubs within a mile or so and a couple within walking distance.
Does this mean you will bring even more fans than you normally do?
