| Quote ="ComeOnYouUll"Attendances and atmosphere will be governed by performances. Friday night attendances last year were poor so I'm not sure Sunday rugby has too much of an effect.
It was a disappointing figure yesterday but as has been said it'll take a while to win some supporters back. After the Bradford game we have potentially the four biggest gates of the season - Rovers, Wigan, Leeds and Saints so it'll be interesting to see how the attendaces go.'"
Our form in the next few weeks will have a massive effect on our average attendance. As you state our biggest crowd pullers all happen in quick succession. A win against Rovers and/or Leeds would get many of the 'missing' fans back to the KC.

| Quote ="Airliebird94"The biggest disappointment for me has been the atmosphere within the stadium
When old faithful gets go (a rare occasion) no-one joins in, and it dies out by "... when the round up days are over"!
I miss hearing our loyal fans screaming at the top of their lungs our famous anthem! I know that we've had a few bum seasons, but aren't we as hull fans supposed to follow the motto "old faithful in any kind of weather"? For decades we have been known as highly passionate and loyal fans, it's really upsetting to see how dull we've all become! I don't know how we can improve this, but for the sake of the players, the club and the match day experience, it needs to improve!!!
'"
I've been saying it on here for a while about lack of singing and atmoshere. To be fair I don't think its any worse than friday nights.
I think one of the problems we have is there's small groups who wanna sing but their spread between north/east corner south/east and a handful at back of south stand.
One idea might be what nal and west ham did and made areas singing sections and printed on tickets that their view maybe obstruted by people standing to sing. If you watch west ham the whole bottom tier of the bobby moore end are stood up and no-one moans.
sorry for going on but we could have great atmosphere at home games.
We need our away support at home which is the best in the game by a mile.

Well there are only three to compare as obviously Widnes weren't in Super League last season.
v Warrington 12710 (last season 16121)
v London 10096 (11139)
v Wakefield 11105 (11032)
The Warrington game last season had a big away following as they needed to win to secure the League Leaders Shield. It's also worth pointing out that the Harlequins game last season was also on a Sunday (although in June rather than February).

Warrington: 12710 (2011: 16121, down 3411)
London 10096 (2011: 11139, down 1043)
Wakefield 11105 (2011: 11032, up 73)
Widnes 10,705 (2011: Using Crusaders as a comparison 10422, up 283)
The Warrington crowd last year was high for several reasons, Wire brought loads as they had the chance of winning the league leaders shield, it had just been announced Agar was leaving, and pass holders could give any unused vouchers to friends. This year the weather was awful.
London was a Sunday night TV game this year in the frost, last year it was in June.
the other two crowds are pretty much what we were getting last season.

Personally I don't think it's any coincidence that once 'chav corner' was ended the atmosphere has been poor. I used to go in there and stand and sing, now I sit in the South East corner and the atmosphere is nowhere near as good.
Still probably a price worth paying to sort it I reckon.

I wasn't a regular, I used to swap between there and the South Stand depending on who I went with, but when I was in Chav Corner I didn't really see any bother apart from the cup game against Leeds in 2010 when it did get a bit nasty.

| IMO the factors behind the crowds so far this season:
[list=1[*The economy. People just don't have the disposable income they used to.[/*:m[*The removal of the voucher exchange scheme.[/*:m[*A hangover from several seasons of dire performances.[/*:m[/listicon_surprised.gif
I'm sure things will improve if we do well.

| I don't think you can put it down to Friday or Sunday rugby. It's probably more to do with a hangover from the poor rugby from previous seasons and also a lack of disposable income as much as anything.

| We are still not £24 a game entertainment.
The away prices are terrible
The price and qauality of the "refreshments" are an insult. £7.20 a pint is along the lines with certain bars in Soho (so im told)

While that is a ridiculous price by anyone's standards, are you seriously suggesting that the price of beer in the stands is keeping people away from games?

You have got a bit trigger happy there.
Its not £7.20 a pint.
£24 for a top flight sporting event is still CHEAP. For the amount of moaning many on here do about the comparision between RL and soccer, it doesnt seem to bother than many soccer fans that they would pay double that of what it costs to attend a Premier league game.

It all adds up
think about it,
everyone has to travel at least an hour to us, so coach fares wont be under a tenner. £25 to get in, because its a longer day you need food and drink at the ground. £3.70 for Guinness and £2.50 for a molten lava pie is steep
