I have serious concerns about Agar and Last at the helm of the team, is anyone else concerned or is it just me being paranoid? I'm not knocking either person here i just feel there is a distinct lack of experience (at the top level).

Maybe he has the respect of the players and will get the best from them and as professionals they should accept he is now the head coach.

The reason he has been given the job could be that in his meeting with the board he has outlined his plans for the future and is indeed prepared to be totally objective in his decisions regardless of how tough they maybe?

The above could be the reason he has been given the job, who knows.

All I know is that things can only get better.

Richard Agar is a young British Coach who has been groomed by Hull FC for this moment.
Why are people surprised ? When Kear went, Agar was not ready .
He now obviously feels he is ready. If an Aussie had come in he may of wanted Agar out . Hull must think highly of him.
I for one am pleased we have chosen the British option and not gone for the "panic" Big name Aussie. People moan and groan about GB being unable to compete internationally. They never will if the Brits are not given a chance . This is also what the Franchise era is about . Young British players and Coaches entering into the fray , instead of highly paid Aussies or New Zealanders milking Clubs for their retirement fund.
Hopefully Hetherington will give Agar the Finances to bolster his squad for 2009 .
On Sunday in defeat we played more Rugby than we had done all season. His style must differ from Sharp`s.
With R.Horne , Dykes , Motu , Whiting , King and Berrigan on the field we would have beaten Saints.

And pray tell how many times has Hall passed to Raynor this season? Most of Raynors tries come from kicks because of our inabilty to bring the backs into the game.

So far Agar has done little wrong for me as he has had little time to and it made a change to hear the coach of our team pin point the areas he thought we were weak in and actually sound like he is capable of addressing these etc instead of the usual "we were patchy", "got babies playing" etc no disrespect to Sharp.

I agree to some extent and understand what you are saying. But Folkes is a proven coach with bags of experience. He would not have been a panic appointment and would have been able to develop the local lads within our squad. This could potentially had a positive knock on effect for England.

Don't forget, he would not be coming here to make a name for himself and then bugger off, he has been there, done it and got the t-shirt.

And if there was the chance of relegation this year do you think they would still have appointed richard or gone for a so called name coach ???? dont think he would have stood a chance if theer was the chance of relegation personaly think it's a stop gap plug a hole and see what happens. At the end of the season no matter how he perform's we will still be a superleague team ????

Possibly. I think this appointment is more to do with cash, or lack of it than anything else. Just my opinion.

It's not as if I'm the only one who didn't see the big improvement FFS.

Opinions as you say do differ . My opinion is we showed more willing to throw the ball about on Sunday than we did under Sharp .
The last try showed that . The amount of times we got rid of the ball at the tackle must have been more than the previous games put together.
I hope Agar will Coach a more expansive style than Sharp`s boring NRL style.
