Seem to remember we were interested in signing him 2/3 years ago but nothing came of it. Certainly a big unit but he maybe using sl as a bagaining ploy to stay in nrl. We'll see

Kane Evans would be a good signing imo. Haven't seen him this year, but did see him play a few times for the Roosters and in the World Cup. Big guy who runs his weight, good age, plenty of NRL games under his belt, and seems like the kind of name we could realistically have a chance of getting.

As for Welch (mentioned a page or two ago). We have more chance of JWH, and that isn't going to happen either.

To be fair Watts was a good player but off the field was a bit of a car crash ( no pun intended) so it was always going to come to an end and Hull reaped the benefits Taylor always wanted to play for Hull and we did get a good fee and Hodgson gave us 5 great seasons and was always going on to bigger things

Evans looks an astute signing. Maybe a bit dumb to really cement himself in the NRL, but tough enough for SL. As good as you'll get without paying marquee money/pension these days.

Well yeah obviously Watts and Taylor where relatively young when they left us so are going to be better now and Hodgson has had 3 NRL seasons

Let's hope we learn from the mistakes of last year and don't start renewing contracts of players based on a few half decent performances. We definitely need some more size in the front and back rows

No he doesn't. Overall hes been poor and will only get worse. One or two half decent performances around contract renewal time isn't what we should be basing decisions on. We need someone who offers real impact. I think re signing green would offer better vfm but wouldn't be against us releasing both and making a good quality front row signing from overseas then letting masi, brown, bienek and anyone else fight it out for the other starting spot
