The RFL sided with Hull's argument that Paul Cooke had accepted the terms of his contract by training & playing for them. Hasn't Carvell has been training & playing pre-season games for Bradford?

You're missing out pay. Cooke had accepted the contract by accepting a wage, the rumours are Carvell hasn't been getting paid.

There should be "a reasonable time period" before a TUPE takeover, for employees to consider whether to accept the new regime.
In this case administration to takeover happened at the same time, so players should have had a couple of weeks notice of the takeover, which I very much doubt.

If the players hadn't been getting paid we would of heard,yes it's been paid late in the last few months but still got it.Carvells contract with the Bulls would of started on 1st December 2013 so only 2 pay days since then and as far as we know they have been paid

I'd imagine that employment law is heavily on Hull / Carvell's side here but it was also on Rovers / Cooke's side. How similar is this to the Huddersfield / Kopczak situation? Legal route doesn't benefit anybody & Hull want their man quickly, suspect they'll settle on a fee.

Bradford can make it very difficult if they want and I expect they are because they want a fee but they don't want an unsettled player who will unsettle the squad if made to stay so it will be a fine balance between how long can Bradford keep going and how quickly do Hull want the player.

I guess it all depends on how the RFL see it and what case Carvell can make, If I was Mr Pearson I would make a small offer of a fee 20/30k that would save face for Bradford and would get the player much quicker, but that's just me.

The most most obvious comparison would be with Kopczak. Prior to the Keith Mason case, obviously.

The RFL, naturally enough, focus on registration rules rather than contract law. As long as Carvell informed Bradford he wasn't happy to have his contract transferred before discussions began with Hull, or nobody can prove otherwise, I can't see that the RFL will do much.

As desperate as Rovers signing Justin Poore.

No but we could do with some more mongrel in our pack, plus Radders not taking over till late, most of the recruitment had been done, he is still left with gentle & bombers master strokes. So an international prop coming available is a god send for his squad.

Id love us to be in for Gale on the basis we offload Miller at the same time. Gale whilst not being the greatest half back is a dam site better than Miller and is also british and would allow us to build some stability and indeed a team around him without the worry that he could s0d off back to Oz at a moments notice. Don't even really want Rankin here either tbh as I don't beleive either him or MIller are good enough but id settle for Gale and Rankin in the halfs till someone better came along to replace Rankin

As for Miller he's been here half a season and only played all pre season along with the kids. He's not been given a chance either!
