I guess that brings us on to another point, what has rule done to deserve the blind faith you are putting in him?

Apparently you aren't allowed an opinion on Rule until you've been alive for more than 70 years.

Sarcasm aside, i can see what position we are in from an overall business perspective but im really interested to know where the blind faith comes from with regards to him trusting Agar for next season. Any valid points from anyone?

I think Rule and the board have faith in Agar and recognise the problems he has had this season with Visas and injuries. They are backing him in his attempts to rebuild the sqaud and seem to think he has done it well.

Im just really interested to know why/where your opinion comes from? This isnt a dig but it does feel like blind faith, which is fair enough if it is. I guess im looking for a logical reason to change my mind and get behind the lot of them if they are going to be here but ive not heard one yet. Convince me?

But what about the clueless tactics, failing to make substitutions and generally being garbage, how are they looking to fix that?
Do you really think the board are backing Agar because they have faith, or because they know our season has been pretty much over for weeks and it's just cheaper to keep him on?

But to counter that, shouldnt they have still performed better with the players we've still had? Where have the tactics been? Where has the motivation of existing players been? Surely the board and rule must see what we see in that regard?

The same board that had the bottle sack a previous coach? Maybe their is no hidden agenda here - just backing a coach they think (rightly or wrongly) can do a job next season.

Im not on a hate train cos that implies its personal, which it very much isnt. Maybe it should be called a highly dis-satisfied and dis-illusioned train?

Think thats definately right, although they do still seem to go for the cheap option in the most key area of first team coach.

Think thats a bit unfair. They could have gone for an experienced (Aussie) coach when Sharp was sacked. But I think the fan base wanted and accepted the descision of giving Agar a chance.

When Agar was appointed we didn't have any money, remember we'd sacked two coaches in succession by this point.

Kear was a reserve coach at the time and cheap
Sharp was a failed first team coach but a great assistant and therefore cheaper
Agar was a supported decision at the time by some but still cheap.
The last expensive coach we must have had was Mcrae. At the 3 points of appointment above we could have gone for a more expensive option and brought in someone like Graham Murray, Ian Millward or Steve Foulkes but we always chose not to. The only driver behind this can be money and the cheap option.
I bet you if we had have brought in one of the big name coaches above we would be in a far better position that we are now.

But relatively with these "cheap" coaches I have seen more success than any other time than in the 20 years I have been watching the club.

Fair point. Ive also seen some of the worst performances, especially in the last season. Opens up the arguement again i guess of winning the cup in 2005 but playing poor in the league/in general etc.

| maybe the board dont want to pay compensation to Agar until next year, so they can say we had a proffitable season despite the absolute dross we've had to watch?

His Ā£4.50 a week shouldn't make much difference.

That's the problem though, just how much is he getting paid, someone banded about a figure of Ā£1500 a week, he'd never earn that anywhere else.
I guess we're all just fed up, would love to know we had someone like Bennet/Kearney coming in but we simply have to accept that, for whatever reasons, our ambitions are restricted to players at the end of their careers and "projects".

As paying customers we shouldn't be accepting anything like we are getting.
Can ANYBODY name any other business that would get away with supplying their customers with such an inferior product?
If Agar IS on Ā£1500 it's a disgrace, 60k a year for an unproven coach....PATHETIC, especially when I can't see Sharp being on less than 30k.
90k per year on two of the worst coaches SL has ever seen.
