If it was win some, lose some then I could praise a performance like today. For FC it's lose some, lose some more. We haven't beaten a top team for over 9 months so don't pretend we can compete with the best.

When we beat the teams we ought to be competing with you'll see me be happy, there's been four opportunities for that to happen since I joined this forum and it hasn't happened once. Given that we've lost our four big tests already this season, beating the likes of Crusaders, Wakey and Quins feels very hollow.. I could get chuffed about it if we'd beaten some of the big boys aswell because you're thinking about league position and keeping a run going etc, but at the moment it just feels like beating up Louis Spence and pretending that it's proof you could give David Haye a run for his money.

No doubt I probably am overly negative but at the opposite end of the scale you're overly positive, don't kid yourself into thinking you come across as a balanced poster. We are just two opposite ends of the spectrum, for every doom-monger there's a happy clapper, just the way it is!

I will criticise if they are playing , I have done already this season. I am yet to see you post anything positive. I just don't understand how you can knock them for playing well?

Well if you've been critical I haven't seen it mate, I've joked with you before that we could get relegated and you'd be 'finding positives' in that you'd be getting to visit all those grounds you've never been to

. As I said earlier, I could praise gallant defeat if it was in the context of 'win some, lose some', but when it comes to playing the top sides all we tend to do under Agar is lose.

Yes, I prefer to pick out the positives, but I have been critical were its due. Get the feeling it would kill you to write even a glimpse of something positive on here.

Anything less than four wins from the next five games would be a poor return and a big disappointment.

careful,don't underestimate the Catalans - they played well against Saints and were unlucky and were not far off beating Cas - the scoreline flattered Cas a bit

Wakefield - Should be a win, no excuses.
Harlequins - Will be tough, we don't do well down there and they are in goods form.
Castleford Tigers - Would expect to beat them at home but they are not at the top for nothing so won't be a walkover.
Bradford Bulls - I would expect a win.
Catalan Dragons - Tough game, they are a big side and it's never easy in france.

I would hope for 4/5.

I was gutted to lose yesterday but at the same time I fail to be too down after seeing us play the way we did. When a missed penalty is the difference between drawing and losing you can't say we didn't compete, believe me those Wigan players will know they've been in a game this morning and most weeks that can not be said.

I would be fairly confident about beating some of the bigger boys this year, especially when we get them at home, Leeds was really disappointing but since then I can't help but feel much more positive about our performances. We need to win the next 6 to get us up the table and then we can start to test ourselves against the best. Warrington away is a massive test just a few days after a derby and even you would have to see that as a bonus, however there are no excuses against an avarage Saints team the week after.

If we can be 9 from 14 after playing everybody once (Rovers twice) I would be very happy with that. The 3 hardest games of the season will be out of the way then and we can get some of the big sides at home where I am confident of some results.

agree its always been a tough fixture but for me we need to make sure we get the job done kind of speak because last season silly defeats cost us top 4 and i hope weve learned progressed from last season. honestly the next 5 games should be won but wont be easy and will require the perfromances from the last 2-3 weeks and maybe a little more and im sure we will be on 12 points going into the rovers game and easter program

I agree that 9 from 14 would seem like a much better situation than 1 from 5 does, but it would still be masking the fact that we can't beat the top teams. You can say you're confident about us winning some of these games but the facts don't back your confidence up. By my quick adding up, since Agar took over we have played Wigan, Leeds, Saints, Wire & Hudds a total of 30 times. Of those 30 we have won only 5, and 4 of those wins took place in the opening month of the season.

So the only time in three years that we have beaten one of the top teams while the season is in full swing was Saints in June last year. It's no coincidence that apart from the two Saints games, our most memorable performances under Agar have all been defeats: 'the time we nearly hung on to beat Leeds', 'the time we tried dead hard against Wire', 'the time the ref screwed us out of beating 12 man Wigan' etc etc.

None of them are gimmies apart from maybe wakey but even then they put a spirited performance up against Warrington and John Kear would love to get one over FC.

All winnable games and someone would say games we should be winning.

I saw nothing from Castleford on Sky on Saturday to explain why people are finding them so hard to beat, Wakefield always give a good account of themselves and you have to factor in that all of their players will be "putting themselves in the shop window" this season, Catalans are a decent side and we often struggle against Quins.

All games are winnable, if we work as hard as we did yesterday then we may well start to win a few games.
