| Quote ="The Hollywood Frasier"When it was first getting contemplated i posted this idea and think it would solve the problem of team representation.
Hopefully it will have a vote system like the NRL all stars game with only 1 player per team allowed and the 2 captains of Wales and France along with Pat Richards due to his Man of Steel Status as automatic selections. Voting wise the team would pick if it followed the NRL rules would be:
1. Greenshields
2. King
3. Howell
4. Isa
5. Richards (MOS)
6. Briers (Wales captain)
7. Dobson
8. O'Hara
9. Buderus
10. O'Meley
11. Hoffman
12. Elima (France captain)
13. O'Donnell
14. L'Estrange
15. Perry
16. Cashmere
17. Morrison'"
Scary squad.

| It is not about making sure each side is represented it is about giving the England squad a tough opposition and the RFL would presume that the English fans would be supporting the England team.

Your missing the point Hutchie was making, that 50% of fans had no rep for [uneither[/u England or Exiles.

| Not sure if it's already been posted (couldn't be ared to read through the 14 pages!) but i thought the game last night was a well fought one, i was very pleased with how much the Exile players wanted to win this.
I hope the RFL now build on this concept (as i think last night was a success) and maybe introduce a two game origin series next year (not sure if a three game series would keeps peoples interest).
Just a slight digression here but what are peoples thoughts on players representing one country ala Brough and McIlorum (sp) then turning out for England? I think it just weakens the International game....i would go with whoever you chosse to rep at under 20/21's that is the national side you play for....end of.
Last thing....BLUEY FOR FC COACH PLEASE - KATH TAKE NOTE!!!

But they did. Everyone had a rep in the England side, unless they (a) weren't English or (b) didn't want to support England! Fans need to separate club from country. Where the players play in clubland is irrelevant when it comes to the national team because the national team is, in effect, the club when we compete against the Aussies and Kiwis.

I agree, it's about picking the best Exiles side. Plus next year some will go home and some new ones will come so it will change every year.

I doubt you'll get two games next year and I doubt it will be in Hull tbh.

18k, tbh id be suprised if there wasnt 2 games the rfl have already said there looking into it straight away and the likes peacock have welcomed it. yesterday showed what a great concept and match it is and it obviously helps england chances of improving and im guessing from the videos ect the guys in the exiles camp loved it and its something for the over seas boys to aim for. im pretty confident that a good 18k would be on show for an exiles game at the kc even more if its announced very early and marketed well but i suppose the stoop is an option with all the kiwis and aussies in london

I agree , lets face it shenton should be no where near that side, he has to be the slowest centre in SL, good in defence but that all he offers

| Quote ="PAUL M"Without a doubt the halfback were the difference, the Exiles ability to move the ball was far better than ours. I don't understand how Myler get's in the England set up, he is a poor half who can only support the play.
Shenton also looked poor and Tomkins looks wasted at fullback the way we play.
The boys playing in the NRL will improve us but the halves are still the biggest worry for me.
Thought the Hull players showed up well tonight with Ogre and Manu impressing.'"
Well said paul, our lads looked outstanding tonight but shenton and myler are not all that are they?? how can shenton get the nod over yeaman and welham is beyond me.. had two clear breaks but no speed to clear the area...
Nothing there that will leave the Kangaroos or Kiwis or for that matter the Welsh quaking in their boots tonight

To be fair i think you are correct too, young Gaskell and Lomax look the real future of GB at present and still so young but both definately worth a run , these kids nowadays are so full of confidence they are ready almost immediately they play for their clubs.... Like the young kid on the wing at saints too..
So many issues to deal with for GB last night Steve mac has weeks of work based on last night
1, almost championship play the ball speed.
2, no recognised specialist stand off, cant keep playing loose men there .
3, extremely ageing front row options in Morley and Peacock IMO that needs addressing after this coming comp.
4, Tompkins kept runnig across his own team thuis removing all options for team mates leaving them all stranded.
5, tompkins only joined the line twice all night which is about 50 times less than he usually does for wigan , big issue there
6, centres looked very weak indeed, no speed or guille to break down the op, and will get creamed week in week out by the aussie lads as we all know..
7, Myler was non existent for much of the game and was very clearly rabbit in headlights for most .
Plus points
1, Robinson looked class but lonely
2, Westwood was best man on the park IMO and is a true warrior to build a pack around with JG who run his blood to water
3, Joel is outstanding and should IMO run in the centres for GB along with laddo from quins giving GB size, speed and grit for a change both in attack and defence .
4, wings looked good
5,in defence tompkins at FB was solid
but again nothing that Aus or Kiwis will be worried about

foster i feel is overrated and are better wing prospects in briscoe, mcgilvary, charnely ect, the play the ball was deffo slowed down by both sides but i will credit the ref as he reffed that as though it was a proper test match/nrl standard game. to be fair to tomkins he always drags across the pitch but its upto the rest of the team to recognise this and play of that and as for joining the line that comes down to the halfabcks setting up attacking play which in myler and sinfield you may aswell just put crabtree and morley there. centres is a massive issue for me lots of good centres like shenton, atkins, bridge, yeamen, cudjoe and welham but theres not 2 players there that stand out been absoulote quality and dead cert picks.myler plays of the back of other players like he does at wire briers and monaghan support play ect but been asked to lead a side he will struggle and with sinfield at 6 who isnt a 6 both players just looked very very lost. as for the posistives all those you mentioned are spot on, even hall is good and i do rate him micgilvary should of been in for him more athletic and offers more i feel but not a major problem.
great concept hopefully a 2,3 game series next year provides england with a quality match and highlights where we need to improve where as if we played france last night and won by 50 with myler and sinfield as halfbacks then we woudnt really know where to improve if you know what i mean
