Tough choices this season but i dont think Cusack has done enough to figure (although he could come in to replace Moa), Burnett is on the fringe as is Washy. Hard call to leave Hall and Turner out too but ive gone for Whiting for his defensive qualities and the fact that i dont think it will be an open game. Reckon the pitch will be fairly heavy.

Gotta say I'd go with the above as its also my way of thinking. Its tough call between Hall, Turner & Whiting but just feel Whiting is the better option defensively and he looked very hungry for a spot in the friendlies.

I just think Whiting's done the most of those 3 in the friendlies to earn the spot. Selection on that basis is what people have been calling for Agar to do.

As much as i rate Whiting..i think picking him or Turner at centre will be a negative approach...we should be going with our strongest and most attacking team and let them loose on Sts...if we turn them over with good rugby..it will make other teams sit up and notice.

I think it is a tough one this, like yourself I rate Whiting and his defence is solid and Saints are an attacking side..However Turner appears to offer more on the offence,I will be happy with either.

Hall for me....better attacking than both of them and his defence has improved beyond doubt.

his defence has improved but not enough for me, thought when he came back last season it was a massive improvement, however I never saw that in the Derby friendly, I thought he dropped of a few tackles.

Really there's a 4 way race for 2 centre spots and we should be picking players who are putting the most effort in and making a difference. Yeaman and Whiting have earned the centre spots for this game IMO. I can't see that Hall's contributed 1st/2nd most out of those 4 in the friendlies.

Turner for me the lad has got pace ..and is quick off the mark .He had a good game against Rovers at centre he look nippy at Sheffield

Horses for courses for me. Hally will come into his own on the firmer ground. Heavy pitches i'd see no benefit in playing people like Hall in comparison to Whiting.

Don't disagree with that, but if Hall had impressed more than the other 2 in the friendlies he should be picked IMO. But he didn't, again IMO. And therefore I think it's unlikely that he'll be picked against Saints.

in a way i'd like hally to play becuse he deserves to keep the centre spot, but at the same time i want whiting to play because he is better defensively...If hall does get dropped i hope he keeps his chin up and wins his place back because IIRC he's out of contract at the end of the season and i'd hate to see him leave.

Injuries will come sometime durin g the season so all the players will get there chances,its an headache agar will be glad to have,players who miss out will just have to take it on the chin and wait for there opportunities.

yeah true, hopefully these selection headaches carry on through out the season. Long may they continue.

I agree on both counts and its a shame as without Hall in the side we only have Briscoe who has shown the ability to score long distance tries.

The fact Sia Soliola will be playing left centre for Saints, IMO gives Hall the massive advantage when it comes to when we have the ball as Soliola is a massive lump of a guy who is probably a better backrower than a centre and could struggle if he gets in a 1 on 1 situation with Hall.

I hope Turner doesn't get the nod over Hall. Unless Hall has had a terrible off-season, I wouldn't want to judge him on two cameo performances in the pre-season.

My preferred starters would be Yeaman and Hall - Turner will get his chance at some time during the season. I would like to see Whiting against Saints but would be happy with Hall there because he can certainly unlock defences.
