erm... no. I'd say "the fans don't know their rugby" is a criticism. The fans' reaction is having a "detrimental effect" is an observation.

In my opinion he shouldn't have said anything with regards the fans....he should have played it with a straight bat and deflected it away. I do feel as though this has detracted from what was a poor performance in Friday, all anyone is doing is talking about this issue.....maybe that is what he wanted?

At times I'd love to criticise or make a 'comment' regarding my customers but as a professional i don't!

No they are not - but I think that people ae happy to read ngativity into his comments because they dislike Agar as a coach. The comments were ill-advised but I think hae been blown out of proportion.

The guy is a prize prat, he basically said "you pay your money, but you can't have an opinions, in case the niceywycey ickle players get a bit fed up", what he should have said is "the fans are telling the team so cold, hard facts, if they don't start listening then we could all be down the job centre on Monday! but he wont, because he is a spinelss, clueless excuse for a coach.

No, what he should have said in public is nothing. Then tell the players in training that they need to win us back over by putting in the performances that HE knows they are capable of. I am the boss mate and most of the staff hate me because I make them turn up on time and do a hard day's graft. Plus I fire any that aren't up to it. You and they can boo me all you want, I don't give a feck. I do care what my customers think though and wouln't dream of criticising them in the national press

Strange that considering he has criticised the players recently and to add some of the comments he has made about individuals such as Craig Hall wouldn't inspire you with confidence if you were that player.

Bottom line is whatever he has to say is going to be (where required) twisted and used against him....he is in borrowed time in many fans eyes and rightly so.

The fundamental reason businesses exist, both profit and non profit, is because they supply the demands of, and can in many instances create a need for the customer. As soon as the customer falls away and in many instances take their "need" elsewhere or remove that need due to a substandard product or service being offered then ultimately the business will fail. In this instance we (the supporters) are the main customer and Agar suggests that they are causing the business problems.

Agar should also look at "cause" and "effect". the intimation on Friday is that the supporters are adding to the cause of the problem; in truth the booing, slow hand clapping and cheering the opposition is merely part of the effect. Your job Mr Agar is to look after the synergy of the team and the needs of each individual within that team.

From a leadership perspective you are completely out of your depth.

I would also look up the words "us" and "our" on the dictionary, you seem to struggle with these....

You can disagree with Agar making the comments he did without agreeing with the actions of the fans that triggered them you know.

Regardless of how Agar felt, and regardless of how well justified he may or may not have been, he should never have made those comments in public. It was always going to cause controversy and be, at best, a PR disaster.
