Houghton is streets ahead of Hodgson, and Houghton/Berro is a better combination that anything else we have for that position. However, Hodgson has been built up to be a great prospect, and can cover SH, Hooker and LF, which is why I'm disappointed if it's true.

The only thing Morgan has done different with Wheeldon is play him! He was a good player at Hull and yet another mistake.

As for Hodgson, they're linked with L'Estrange, Houghton, Brough, Newton and end up with an unwanted reserve from the 3rd worst team in SL.

He is, he will get more opportunities with another club, and like most young uns they like to stay as local as they can.
Good luck to the kid, I hope Morgan can bring him on, I am just very relieved it was not Houghton.

And ill give you a clue it wasn't a team who was in the playoffs when the said players joined HKR.

Not true. Just another silly rumour. Houghton is one of very few of your youngsters who actually supports the club he plays for, so unless he was forced out, was never likely to come to Rovers.

Despite the clear gulf in class between the two squads, Hodgson has a better chance of first team RL at Rovers, so I guess hull fans should be pleased they have two good hookers and are giving a talented youngster a better chance of developing.

Houghton was never leaving hull, and I didn't want hall or tommy lee as all the other names that have been linked with us. Think Hall is over-rated, Tommy Lee is worthless, Houghton is a good player, would probably come on leaps and bounds at Rovers under the guidance of Morgan, but as I said earlier he isn't leaving hull anytime soon.

Hodgson is an up and coming youngster who hasn't been allowed to play in his prefered position at hull, now for a hooker to be playing in the second row and gettin Man of the Match in most of your games last year, and picking up reserve player of the year last night, rovers must have a decent player on their books.

The number of players Morgan has got the best out of (Murrell, Wheeldon, Colbon, Cockayne, the list goes on) makes me believe that he can do the same with josh.

Only time will tell, but it's funny how he's average at best now he has signed for rovers. If this is the case, I feel for the rest of your reserves. Deep down I think a lot of you know that at this moment in time, youngsters see Rovers as the better prospect. Rovers have a lot of potential coming through the ranks, and I think that Josh fits the bill.

They'd have a point if we signed Thorman or someone like that, but this guy's got huge potential. That's what makes successful teams, building from the bottom with players and turning them into winners.

I have heard from Morgan we are making 3 or 4 signings which will be British based players AND internal promotions. So we have made two signings one of which will be used in our Reserve side mostly and introduced to SL rugby gradually.

I hope we bring back Kirk Netherton as he has the potential to be a pretty decent player to rotate with a very good hooker of which I expect us to sign at the end of next season.

The only place Lockyer or any other player from the southern hemisphere has been mentioned is by so called "in the know" supporters on these forums. As for the Diskin/Brough...etc rumours again message forum talk not words that have been muttered from the mouths of Morgan or Hudgell in the public domain.

he's played two senior games for us, both at LF. In the reserves he's played Hooker, and it's at hooker when he got MOM, not at LF.

I think you have a point. Josh is a good player and will come on with first team game time and being under Morgan.
Houghton on the other hand is already more of a player than Josh will ever be and with Tommy a 'shoe in' for the door Danny will get more game time next season and only improve.
I would have been absolutely gutted if Houghton had moved to any other SL club. As good a player as I think Josh is Ill get over this news !!!
