Nobody once last year suggested Moa or Manu be dropped to give Chris Green some gametime.
What is we do your idea and Crookes get injured in pre-season? What if we sign another winger and Crookes cant get in.
The only thing we can agree about is that it would be useful to give Crookes some gametime, I am sure that he will get some time later in the year, if not we need at dual registering or loaning him to another club.'"
I did say that my thoughts were based on Crookes being our starting winger, this and only this was the reason I suggested what I did. If we are signing a new winger then it's irrelevant.
I wouldn't normally advocate this, never said this with Moa, I have quite clearly said this is a completely different scenario. Green was a young player Crookes is already established.
My issue is our potential first choice winger may have only played about 3 games for us and about 6 in two years. That concerns me.

hes not playing like an international his form of late is very average hes playing like he doesnt want to get injured and knows hes on his way (just like colin best did in his last year of his contract) yeamo makes make me laugh when he says he has got to play well for hull before thinking of the world cup at the end of the year ,too true yeamo apart from last game you too have been average
what we needed was a winger whos a goal kicking try scoring points machine whos non quota whos just signed a two year extention with Bradford Jamie foster anyone? would we really prefere crookes why didn't we move for foster next season if we know Briscoe is going????

So many wrongs not sure we're to start.
Briscoe has not been average, just not scored any wonder try's, most meters, tackle busts etc, I honestley can't believe any thinks he isn't trying.
Foster is average, no speed or power, weak in defence.
Good goal kicker and lots of effort, but that's it.

There's two good reasons for that, Briscoe, for some reason, isn't the fans favourite he once was and certainly nowhere near Manu or Moa. Then there's the point of the balance I talked of earlier, if you replaced either of those two with Green you'd lose out quite considerably. On this seasons form that's simply not the case with Crookes & Briscoe.
Tom has been found out a little this year, he no longer gets the penalties he did and hasn't done anything out of the ordinary, Leeds at home was the last time he did anything spectacular.
If he stays in SL then it's obvious that he couldn't get a first grade spot in the NRL, it's not surprising, he has massive flaws in his game (notably catching the ball).
I'm sorry, but on this seasons form I don't see it as the ludicrous suggestion you do.

Makes you question whether he is good enough for us in the first place then.
Anyways, as Miller and Holdsworth are lined up to be next years first choice halves, does this mean Horne will be dropped as soon as Miller settles

He was one of our best 3/4 players in the first few games he played. Lineham came in and could not be dropped based on form, Crookes has done nothing wrong.
Already stated that he should not walk straight in, form should dictate what happens there and injuries. Not sure how this point has any relevance to the argument, is Horne leaving? Are those two first choice? Miller needs some games this year ahead of next season and has come to play so PG has tough choices to make based on RH and DJ current form.

| Does anyone think Briscoe has been any better than Crookes this year anyway? I don't, Briscoe gets picked because of his potential to do something, not form, which kind of goes against what people are arguing.

If he is going to Leeds and announced it now then the fans would turn on him, but the longer it drags out then the less time he has getting abuse.

Fair point Hutchie. I personally think he's leaving but that's just an opinion and I have nothing to back this up. It's just a feeling on my part. Until he's announced what's happening we really shouldn't be discussing if he should be in the team or not.

Nope, which is why I said if in my post about Briscoe and Crookes.
The Miller comment just isn't relevant.

Horne to wing? He has played there at international level.

| Quiet for 60 minutes but injected himself into the game and did something spectacular. Typical Tom.
Hopefully a trigger for better form for the rest of the year.

| Average all night and not looking to get involved, defensively weak for two wire tries. Caught a pass kicked forward got the bounce battled and dived on the ball, hardly spectacular ! If Toms Nrl dream as collapsed then I can't see leeds wasting a large amount of cap space unless they think b j bishop is finished, we need a scrum half hooker and a prop ASAP, don't be surprised to see him stay at hull IMO I think agents often start rumours

Haha. Dumbest post all night. Not big on rugby knowledge then.
Did hard yards all night.
Shot out of line to defend dangerous attacks numerous times.
took tries well.
And not sure what else could of done to defend the tries, nearly pulled off a tremendous stop. Only Monaghan Richards or hall would of scored it.

| He was poor for up until his first try. He was solid after that but was very lucky to not give a penalty away in the 76th minute which may well have helped Warrington get a draw. But he did well when his side needed it the most. Holdsworth as well was pretty poor a lot of the game and Warrington put him under a lot of pressure but in the last 25 mins when Hull needed it most he was outstanding.

So the two vital penalties he won when we were struggling to get out of our twenty were poor, yes he might have done a little better for the Monaghan try but what else did he do wrong exactly?
I think the vitriol shown towards Tom by quite a few posters is absolutely disgusting, so what if he goes to Leeds, how is that disloyal, it doesn't matter whom he goes to, he has been a fantastic player for us and worn/played with the black & white jersey on his back with pride as far as I can see.
Yes he still makes some defensive errors that could be ironed out but even then we are seeking perfection for a lad who is only 23!
His ability to get us on the front foot or earn us a penalty/quick play the ball time and time again and his ability to bust tackles and score some amazing tries far far outweighs his defensive lapses (& I say lapses because he is a very decent/courageous defender) and I'd rather have him over Dixon/Hall/Charnley et al any day of the week.
If he goes I'll be sorry but I'll wish him all the best and talk of dropping him is the biggest load of nonsence, just as dropping Manu was last year, same old faces spouting the same old $h1te..give your heads a good shake and try to understand what that actually means.
Seems obvious that those spewing this rubbish have no idea the effect this has not just on the individual but on the team, it's not just morally wrong, it's wrong in so fact it effects us, HULL FC and our ability to win games, we put out strongest team out and at the moment that includes Tom, if you don't agree then you are in cloud cuckoo land.
It sometimes worries me that fans get on the back of players who decide they want to go to pastures new, a bit like Manu who has been castigated time & again, so what, players move on, that is the way of the world. That some fans seem to think by leaving FC they are being disloyal clearly have personal mental health issues of their own and need a huge reality check...
GET A GRIP FFS!

| Quite right. I presume that all of these critics have never changed their employer.
If a departing player puts in a Clinton or Eastmond like final year "effort" then feel free to slate them. However the vast majority are not like that and there is zero evidence Briscoe is holding back.
